Kings, Misfits, Freaks and Renegades...

After months of planning a group of us got together for our annual group trip. This is one of those trips where I slow down and be nice because we're on "vacation".

The group..Jim, Nancy, Andy, me, Ben and Nicky on one foot:

I'm not the one to complain of bad dreams
It's like disease, but without a life
It's all a scene with this great directive

That we're all lost and we're stuck in time
We feel alone in a strange blue ocean

And we're all scared as death to die...

I'm not the one to admit it's helpless
I have a sense that we will be alright
I wish for peace with electric silence

To keep our hearts beating on our minds
And we will see that we're all connected
When we awake to the tunnel's light

Suit up, boys
We're on vacation

Suit up, boys
Let's ride, it's the weekend

Get down, girls
And dance with your best friend
Show yourselves, and take what you ask for
Let it go, no fights on the garage floor

The night gets better, but wait, so wonderful
They move together and dance so colorful

And kiss like flowers that breathe with pheromones
Songs get louder, it feels so natural

Kings, Misfits, Freaks and Renegades. from larryboy8821 on Vimeo.

Hi guys!!

I just switched the video from private to public. I have to hide it from a certain brad21 until I'm ready to post. It might take a minute to switch.

Nixels came over to my house because we needed to work on his bike before we could go. The carb boots had 25 years worth of cracks and enough air was getting in to make it run like crap. I let Nicky suffer for a bit, then I ripped all four carbs out of the boots at once, the screws in the clamps wouldn't come loose. To put the carbs into the new boots we used a ratchet strap. Should run good enough for 10,000 feet now.

We rode out half an hour behind schedule to meet the rest of the group in Sonora, CA. Had an awesome lunch at the Diamondback Grill. This is the first time for some of us to ride together and I promptly got the entire group introduced to the Sonora Police Department. An ass chewing later we were on our way...some in the group were probably wondering what they had gotten themselves into.

We stopped at the super cool overlook. It was closed, but we went for a look anyways.

We picked plenty of re-group places so we didn't lose anybody.

The needle stuck open near 10,000 feet on SFKLR's XRR, so I gave him a push down the hill to get it started. He ran the bowl dry, then refired it and it unstuck!!

SenorPeligro had scouted a nice dirt diversion that cut out some pavement miles. We sent Nixels on ahead to Lee Vining on pavement for a nap.

Benjava is getting pretty good at the dirt riding..time for a ride to Usal Beach I think.

I'll give these slackers some time to post some pictures before I get too far ahead.

Larry, was that Silver Creek Canyon? Where are the hard bits? TKC's would be nice for that.

I hit the wrong button on the cam while on Silver Creek, I didn't get any pics or footage from that side.

I don't think your bike with that almost bald tire would make it up. Fewer stream crossings and much steeper. Jim fell down once, pointed down the hill to bump start then came up with no further problems. It has one of those hills that messes with your head, it's steep...easily ridden. The 800 with some decent knobs would be fine.
