Bailey's First Breakfast Ride

Chris and I get up on Saturday mornings from time to time, and make our way over to a little place called MaBob's. It's one of those places that still has great service, good food, and reasonable prices. It's 30 miles or so from Gray, any direction you take is mostly scenic byways. When I got up this morning at 7:00, Bailey heard me rustling around in the kitchen and asked where I was going. I told her riding, and she asked if she could come along. I've never taken her more than a few miles from the house, and I was a bit hesitant, but I decided now is as good a time as any to take her out for a "real" ride. Drake had stayed with my parents so there was no "That's not fair" issues. Those of you with small children close in age know of what I speak. We kissed mom goodbye, suited up, and headed to the meeting spot with Chris.

Bailey asked what these were, so we stopped and took a closer look. A small saw mill with a surplus of cut trees. I wonder why they keep them wet.

We arrived at MaeBob's, and Bailey was wondering why it was taking Mr. Chris so long to get off his bike.

Waiting on our breakfast, the 7 year old got a little silly.

Belly's full of omlets and french toast, we made our way back home via more county byways. Even did a few gravel roads as well. We left this morning and 8:15, and rolled back in the driveway at 12:00. Traci said she was getting a little worried, but I assured her everything went fine. Bailey had a great time, as did I, and we both can't wait until next time.

Thumb Keep the logs wet

Well now, glad you asked about the wet logs.

If the logs sit very long (a day or two), they start drying out and begin to crack. Think of dry firewood that has cracks.

By keeping the logs wet, they preserve the value and quality.

Here's some Oregon logs that I bought for firewood. They do get bigger than that around here.

Enjoy your time with Bailey. It goes by too fast...

I just walked my daughter down the aisle yesterday.

I remember when she was Bailey's age like it was yesterday...
