Thanks for the Civil War History, I have always enjoyed seeing these reports.
Another one of those "somedays". |

Glad I found this report, thanks for posting up. I just recently decided to do some of the same.
I spent a good portion of my summers as a kid being "drug around " to Civil War sites and old country churches and county courthouses by my grandmother. She was way into the geneology of our families early days in the states. She was an officer in the Indiana state chapter of the DAR and generally a pretty interesting old gal. Unfortunatly, being the independant little prick that I was (still haven't grown all the way out of it ) I didn't have a full appreciation of the education she was exposing me to.I picked up The Civil War Road Trip Guide by Michael Weeks to assist in the planning. Haven't decide where to start yet but hopefully I'll get something figured out soon.

Thanks for a great report. My dad and I spent a summer living just south of Fredricksburg and exploring the area on his cb750. There's so much history down there that we tend to forget about. I remember being amazed while walking through the remnants of the trenches, and a set of giant cannons somewhere around there. If only we had taken a camera with us.
