Thanks, Yellow Knife - I will check it out. I thought about going on Google earth near Argentia and scaning the western and northern shores of the Placentia Bay and the area around Fox Harbor and Ship Harbor.

I think I found it - it looks like Isaac Point and Isaac Head - it was decribed in some correspondence between US and Canandian officials:

http://www.lexum.com/ca_us/en/cts.1978.14.en.html.

And is considered the northern most perimeter of Argentia Harbor.

Still looking for more info on the gun emplacements.

Nice RR PackRat...

The Wigwam in Anderson, IN is the 2nd largest gym in the state, holding 8996 fans. New Castle, IN is the largest at more than 9000. Check this out.

Great RR and pictures. Really appreciate the info on the TLH....I'm leaving in 2 days to do it too. Here is the link to my (future) RR on Ride the Roc.

http://www.ridetherock.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5929b

If you aren't familiar with that group, you would really enjoy it. I see there is a "packrat" listed as a member. From your trip you may have some pictures of your bike and a lighthouse in the same picture. That would qualify you to enter the Lighthouse Contest!

I hope my RT makes the trip without taking any naps, just as your GS did.

Great report.. Had a few drinks and read!!!

I'm from NFLD (45 minutes west of St. John's) and I'm familiar to what you saw. If your into RV'ing I'd highly recommend taking some time to visit NFLD and Nova Scotia and cross both provinces. Lots of great sea side camping with whales in the backgrounds, can't beat the sunsets with a captain in your hand, next to a fire, chatting with the misses and some locals.

Thanks for sharing

cheers,

Ken
