Best would be late July- August.
Most of the high (fun) roads will be snow free by then.
Last year there was still a tad of snow on top of Canuck going over/ coming down Spread creak. There were two places I seen in Yaak to have lunch, one had a lot full pirates, the other had OK food. There's a hard-ball alternative also.
Lots of loop roads.
If anyone is interested in riding a 4-wheeler, it's legal in ID & MT, but they ride drag and carry the tool box and lunches.

I would be interested in this - sweet spot. I was there last year around this time and there was plenty of snow up the road at Johnson saddle. Some great riding in that area. Snow shouldn't be as much as a problem this year?

I know we can get in from the Bunco Road side, I was over there and headed south a couple weeks ago. From the saddle, it's all downhill to Whisky Rock. I'd expect Johnson Saddle to be open by now...but I'm not putting $$ on it. Just below the saddle around the first couple curves is in the shade on the N. side, global warming really hangs in there.

Weekend before the 4th it is.

Who's going to show up for the Trials out a Lamotovita's? I talked with Dillon Wed. he said he was going to try and make it. I'll be there. Kootenai Rider should be there. Who else? It's been a while since I've seen my Spo/Cda ADV buddies and I want to see all of you.

Well, darn! I have to be at church this Sunday for some A/V work. There goes our chance to actually view trials activities. Sorry Gary, hopefully next time.

Bruce, you can't find a nicer crowd than us....

Dale, your acivities planner is doing a good job of keeping you away from these adv activities. Is someone trying to tell you something.

LB, Yes, I think you're right. But some really great news! Dillon was up to our place and installed my new Enduralast alternator. Holy mackerel, what a difference! The airhead is running much better and smoother. And the problem with backfiring has pretty much disappeared! Just amazing! Fiona evidently likes her new heart.

We may try to make it to the trials as soon as we can get away from the Sunday morning crowd. How long does this activity go on? I really, really want to get Nanc to one of these events, and driving the hack up there would be icing on the cake.

It's an all day event. Likely to wrap up by 4:30 or so.
If it's raining (not likely) the schedule could be condensed a bit.
Come on out. Airheads live there.
