Feeding Father and wife came thru Moscow a couple days ago. I found them a motel. No small feat when there is a football game looming.

They had come north from Vegas, visiting Nat Parks in UT and CA and NW. They are headed to Glacier, Yellowstone and back to Vegas and home in Russia.

We had a good chat over supper. There is always some translation problems, that slows dialog, but Alik spoke english well, so we could hold a fair conversation. We talked about travel, of course, favorite Nat Parks, people, music, business, etc.

Warm folks. It was a nice evening.

Latour Creek

I'm planning to ride Latour Creek this Friday starting late morning. Starting off at the Snake Pit for a late breakfast and then ride south and get home before my other half gets off work If anyone wants to ride lets plan to meet at the Snake Pit.

Last weekend XRs4Ever and I went up out of Murray to go find this #7 Trail (Idaho Centennial Trail) Parked there by Thompson Pass....go about half mile in after multiple log hoppings and decided to turn around. Our goal was Idaho Point about 30 miles away, so hopping logs the whole way wasn't working.

So, throw the bikes back in the truck, run down the road closer to Murray, and took #140 out of Bear Creek...

Headed up some 2-track...which turned into uh...Bear Creek...literally, then it turned back to some crappy loose rocky 2-track again.... once up on top of the ridge it turned to pure awesome. Taddy Blazusiak would have been proud of our rock garden crossing skills. XRs4Ever gets some mad props since his bike was geared pretty high for those kind of crossings.

Up a random trail. Even the fiberglass trail marker stake said "Trail?"

Through the trees and onto an open ridge...looking back towards where we came from. (Other side of that treacherous ridge)
.

Looking up the "trail"

Up on top. I'm sitting in 1 of 5 "chairs" of rock that someone has built.

I think those chairs are so that friends of "Big Jack" Hayman can come hang out with him....

...and enjoy the view. (Ok, this is actually from the other side of there later in the day)

I would advise a skid plate for this ride.

Later, we went back to the main trail and wound up on a different portion of trail #7 (ICT) which we did manage to have to turn around again due to downfall. A lot of the trail we went on I don't think anyone had been on for a while since some of the downfall was rotted. We were able to just break it out of the way instead of moving it.

Wish I could make it, gotta work. It's a nice ride! We'll have the RZR over by Big Creek/Lake Elsie and Slate Creek over the weekend.

Only what's on the website. I am going to call tomorrow to see if this is a BMW only event.

Have fun. I wouldn't mind checking it out, but going to be out of town this weekend.
