I don't think we will have to worry about hitting snow.... I just heard it is 98 in Thompson Falls right now.

Yep...plenty of awesome riding over on the wet-side. The big difference, I believe, is we have better proximity to the good stuff here in the Inland NW.

yes that is what it appears. I am hankerin' for a TE610 as a new all rounder for over there, with the potential to get a littler bike if needed later on.

Hey, thanks! I won't be keeping up with y'all any time soon on my little scooter but I finally have an opportunity to chase Dillon around town on two wheels. Probably a good thing too - I was a bit of a hooligan myself back in the day on my trail bike and Dillon is having a hard enough time worrying about me on just the scooter for now.

The 350 is still here, I just havent had tons of time during the week to be in the shop, and have been spending the weekend with Randi. That and we had a few things happen that made money tight over the past few months. We will get it built though.

Dillon and Randi,

Nanc and I have some Summer Shandy in the cooler. Stop by if you're ever up on the north side. You'll probably find us in the garden picking beans or something.

The ATV club has become a huge time sink! We've been putting more time on the geezerquad (RZR) than anything else. My wife is much more comfortable on that than she was with the KLR. Unfortunately, I've only had my bike out 3-4 times all year, gotta fix that.

We'll have to take you up on that. Now that I officially have over 100 miles on it I think Dillon trusts me to ride up that far. Fair warning though- Nanc might dig the scooter so much you'll have to buy her one.

Randi,

sorry we had to be at a wedding this afternoon. Hopefully, we can get together ASAP. Oh, the wedding was fun, but I'm not a fan of light beer.

Question(s) for the locals. I am in the market for a dual sport, not sure what though, and on a limited budget. I recently was considering a Yamaha S10 but, it's not feasible due to some extenuating circumstances, and even if I could have made that work, I would have had to give up my FJR, which I am not willing to do.

So, if a guy was looking for something that could handle basic offroad duty, do some multiple day trips, maybe even an Alaska type journey, including random offroad excursions, and was say, in the $2k range, what would you recommend? Does it even exist? For what it's worth, or if it even matters, I am 6'3" and range from 180-195 depending on the time of year (triathlon season has me at the low end).

Years ago I had an '84 XT600 that I should have never parted with and miss the camping trips and and other things I did on that bike.

A few bucks more than your budget, but Kootenai Rider's selling off a KLR...
