Kootenai Rider,

I have a V-Strom 650 ADVenture and am very much at home touring, though I am finding more and more interest in the '2-Track' way of life, especially if it ends up bringing me to a view point, or a campsite!

How about a ride up to Murray for lunch at the Spragpole? The leaves along the river should be pretty colors right now.

I can't leave until probably 11:00 am so it will be a street ride for me. Someone want to lead a dirt ride with the idea of everyone ending up at the Spragpole at ablout the same time?

Lunch Meetup
Saturday Oct. 26th, 2013
1:00 PM
Spragpole
Murray, ID

If anyone wants to ride with me meet at the Conoco Station on the S. side of I-90 on Mission between Argonne and Mullan. I'll be there at 11:00 am.

So who wants to lead a dirt ride for those that want something more exciting than what I plan to do?

Let's ride
Ladybug,

I will see you on Saturday at 11am at the Conoco!! Thanks so much!!

Not gonna make it to the Spragpole on Saturday folks. I need to get the beemer put back together after a major brake system failure a few weeks ago. Another case of brilliant technological engineering nullified by poor manufacturing and quality control.

Have good time everyone!

XR4Ever, don't you want to lead out a dirt ride to the Spragpole for the dirty ADVers? Just time it to end up there at about 1:00 pm.

Where's everyone? we have a new kids to meet and few welcome

A19, It's going to be too nice of a day to stay home working on a bike. That can wait, bring Connie out I thinks she's wearing her dancing shoes and wants to get out and do some dancing.

Kootenai Rider, have fun at the 24 hour race and the rest of the adventure ahead of you. Spo/Cda just isn't going to be the same without you.

Live2Ride, we haven't seen you in a long, long time. I suppose you are working this weekend? Do I have to go to Rockford if I want to see you?

MotoNerd, looking forward to meeting you.

OK who else is coming out to play Saturday?

I never said I wasn't taking Connie dancing... We just can't make it to Murray. I need to ride to Westside to pick up a part then run a few more errands in Medical Lake and Nine Mile Falls.
I hope to be home working on it about the time you guys are wrapping up lunch.

Does anyone know a good paved route from Medical Lake to Nine Mile Falls on the west side of the river?

I doubt I'll make it. Parts arrived today for the destroyed transmission in the Yamaha I have torn apart, and I have to install some bars on a Street Glide for one of Spokane Valley's finest. And there's a Halloween party at the bar Saturday night too.

The only way I'll make it is if I hit a major parts snag, and that's not too likely. I hope.

I might see you on the road. I'm heading towards Missoula Saturday morning. Going over to my son's place for the night.
Closing up shop soon, then off to Copper Canyon for 2 weeks. Will be back the end of November. Looking forward to seeing you all again, and meeting some new locals.
And yeah, would it kill ya to come to Rockford.

That sounds like a great idea and was already planning a ride for sat morning, but the boss caught wind of it and request was denied. Too much Halloween prep to do. Plus I have a nasty cold/flu that feels like it is getting worse. I don't think a ride would help. If plans change, I'll see you guys there. Have fun!

Hey Ladybug, this is off topic, but have you seen the MASSIVE ladybugs in the area lately? I'll try to get a picture of one next time I see one. They are sorta dull brown. I had one that almost covered my entire fingernail yesterday.

I've seen a few small ones this last week but I have missed those giant ones.

Hey MotoNerd, how long have you had the Strom and what do you think of it? My son wants the two of us to get a pair of them.

As expected it was a great day for a ride.

Someone showed up on a new bike.

Dang, AirheadBruce retires and thinks he needs to go shopping for a pretty new (to him) Aprilia. No clutch lever makes the handlebar look a little naked.

Then Motonerd showed up on this very nice V-Strom.

The start was a tad foggy.

I was surprised to see boats out on the lake. They looked like fishing boats. Brrrrrrrr

The fog started to break just before the 4th of July Pass.

Then we had blue skies and fall colors.

We stopped for a geocache and showed Motonerd about looking for useless treasures along the way.

MotoNerd took to geocaching like a fish to water.

AirheadBruce found a flower to ride with me.

Nice to see the Snakepit open again although it wasn’t very busy.

The river road is always a nice ride.

While we were in having lunch our motorcycles attracted some friends. One liked MotoNerd’s bike so well it was right next to it. MotoNerd had to go find the owner so he could get his bike out. The guy seemed pretty clueless that parking 12" from the right side of another bike might be a problem. He was nice though and very apologetic. I got the feeling he was fairly new to riding.

Lunch was yummy as always and we headed for home.

MotoNerd, it was nice meeting and riding with you. I hope you’ll be able to join us for more rides in the future.
AirheadBruce, it was nice to seeing you.

It’s too bad the rest of you couldn’t make it since it would have been nice to see you.

I was thinking of you guys while I was at home hacking up my lungs.
Glad to hear it was a good time! The maples are really bright this year.
