Ayres rock

This is a bit of a ride I did around Ayres rock last week.
I was on my way to ride the Canning when I developed a problem with the bike and had to abort the Canning as it has to be 100% reliable for that trip.
So rather then just ride home, I took a detour to look at Ayres Rock, The Olgas and Kings Canyon.

Stopped off to walk around the Devils Marbles and got back to the bike to find a bird sitting on it.

but can't believe you had trouble with a Transalp

So what's the go with it

Great pics but bit cheeky to find someone on your bike

I had the chain break at 120kph (130 in NT).
It wrapped up and jammed between the front sproket and gear selector, bending the selector back against the frame. (look on yours mate and you will see what I meen).
This also stopped the engine in an instant, ie from 5000+rpm to 0 rpm with a loud bang.
Managed to straighten the shaft enough to get it going and with help from a fellow rider got the chain fixed.
I decided then that because I did not know if the sudden stop had damaged it I should not continue with CSR. Also oil leaking from selector shaft was a possibility.

PS Have not had a problem with the bike since.

Good on you on repair to get going again
