Camera found at Deals Gap

No sure if this is the forum to post this message.

I found a fuji camera on May 23 at deals gap (tail of the dragon). It was on the hill leading to the fun part of the Hyw 129, right in front of the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort sign. The camera was totally destroyed but the chip is still OK.

If you are the owner and want the pics and/or the remains of the camera, PM me. I know how valuable the pictures are from a trip like this so hopefully they can find themselves back to the owner.

There were three bikes in the party. The license plate on the blue Harley is 60KKD. If you know who this might be, please pass this message along.

What state is the tag from? You can look up the tag # online or contact that states State Police dept.

Someone probably called the Resort to look for it....

I've actually found two cameras and gotten them to their rightful owner. . .

A few things.
1.) Look to see if any geodata is stored in the pictures - if so, you may be able to find pictures taken at home or at a friends home and with that you can pare down who you're looking for.
2.) have you looked for any other data on the card other than pictures? Perhaps documents of some kind with a name?
2.5.) There likely are deleted photographs which are still recoverable on the device, or quite possibly data other than photographs. There are various undelete programs and whatnot, but if you could do a block by block duplication of the disk and were willing to upload it I could look at it as well.

Also, kudos for trying to do the right thing!

FWIW, on my snapshot camera, right after I format the disk, I take a picture of a note I created on my iphone. The note has my name address , telephone, etc.

If I ever lose the camera, anyone who finds it has my info right there in the photos.

If you have the tag and state, post it or PM it to me. I'll run it through DMV tomorrow at work. Should have an answer in a matter of seconds.

Oh, if any of you are worried, tag numbers carry no expectation of privacy.

One could also take a photo of their business card.
