My stock system is all crooked! I'd say it's the subframe not the pipes!

I can be done. Mine are straight but it took hours and hours of fiddling and shimming.

Talking There here, There here

I would not mind if mine were out by a few mm, that would be if I could get the old ones off and the new shinny Wings (that arrived last night) on.

Damned existing bolts have corroded and seized, I tried penetrating oils, brute force and even shouting obscenities at the thing with no avail. hopefully going in past the shop latter today, I'll pass the problem to my local mechanic before I douse the thing in petrol and chuck a match at it.

There you go rah, I fixed me spelling.
Happy!!!!!

spelling & typos on advrider always need a wee bit of unravelling. but, stevie, you take the cake or are most things just spelt more creatively in scotland?

show your stock pipes some of your typing and they'll simply fall off.

Is it me or does it seem like you could just make your own slip on mufflers for less then the cost of what is available on the market? These things arent that complicated. I plan on checking out a buddies setup and then making up a pair of my own. Probably use 304 stainless. any thoughts?

There on, and there good.

Wings are on, KTM Sommer air bow mod complete, 16 tooth sprocket done.

Whats next.......Carbs.

I had the existing needles lifted one click during the first service. I do suspect I need to alter then as I am still getting popping and farting (from the bike) on a closed throttle, so she is running a bit rich.

Anyone got any thoughts???

I think I may have to get some Dyno time.

With the "Spuplementary Air System" (SLS) injecting air into your exhaust, it is impossible to Jet using exhaust noise as the determining factor. Poping is usually associated with a lean condition, which is exactly what the SLS is doing to burn unspend fuel in the exhaust.

You are probably OK wit the needle at centre position, and idle jets turned out 1/8 - 1/4 turn more than stock, but only a Dyno and Gas analyser will tell you for sure.

Dyno Time

well I'm off to see the man with the Dyno tonight , does anyone know if there are any jet kits in the UK or Europe.

I know you guy's in the states us the Factory Pro Kits but I cant seem to find anything over here in the UK. I spoke to Dynojet UK and they have no plans in the near future to produce anything for the LC8 engine

I installed Wings 2 months ago

I am very pleased with them. The noise is just a little bit higher than stock but they look great and also lowered the engine's temperature and releaved my legs from getting toasted!! Good pricing also! I trusted the guy and sent him the money through a bank. Received the goods 3 weeks later, within the time he promissed for eastern Europe! I chose titanium ones with small outlets and carbon end cups. Don't care much for the extra few horses, though the power in the mid range shows some welcome increase!!

But SLS is not working on a closed throttle and has nothing to do with popping...

This is not what I would call a friendly reply!!

I am sorry if I annoyed you somehow Mr Sakurama!! I fitted my new mufflers lately, was pleased with them and thought I should share it with other guys, spreading the good news for a product I feel pleased with and help the guy that constructs it to keep up the production at a reasonable pricing, as he asked me to as well! I didn't now I should begin new thread about it or maybe shut up? Sorry I expressed myself!!

You want piccys of Wings silencers with Carbon End Caps and the bigger bore decibel killers? Go here http://www.joatmoa.com/morebikes.htm
To say I'm pleased with them would be a typically English understatement...I'm chuffed to heck with them!!! ad infinitum
