Thumb DYNO Testing....

Yes, made in Slovenia. Just like Akrapovic's.
I just went through DYNO testing for our Neptune Exhausts and it's expensive but worth the time and money when the numbers come in.

It's important to do before and after runs with stock and modified mufflers. This shows true performance gains or losses. The flow of air is the most important while diffusing the amount of noise at the other end in addition to realizing emmision standards.

When we get the WINGS Silencers, I will do a before and after DYNO run to get real numbers.

Other factors that make an exhaust system attractive is weight and heat reduction. The WINGS Silencers (titanium) are almost half the weight of OEM and they dispearse heat fantastically.

Can't wait to get them here!
thanks,
Andrew

My bro and I are getting these cans. BUT I managed to check out a set of Akra's and they were a straight through design. No spark arrestor in there that I can see, unless something was missing? If they are the same, I guess there isn't an arrestor? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Hey Andrew, LOOK out! the weather looks to be NASTY for this week. Would hate to see a fellow ADV rider get in a dangerous situation with the road conditions you might see. On your roadtrip back it looks like if you take a southern route, you'd be better off. ride on.

If these cans don't have legal spark arrestors, you might find yourself with a heafty ticket next time your on that great dirt road in the forest. Any thoughts???

Heavy guage steel wire twisted into a tornado shape and inserted into the end of the pipe. Used this trick to pass inspections and stay legal for enduro's on my KTM 400 SX.

Use plenty of throttle........ for your escape

Built just like the AKRA's, NO SPARK ARRESTOR. Guess there are alot of illegal 950's out there.

yea...how big a deal is no spark arrestor?
the only time you would need it is an organized Dual Sport Ride?...right
I've never been pulled over in the forest for a muffler inspection.

I've been pulled over in the way distant past and checked. Actually never "pulled over" but checked while we were in camp (they'd never catch us while riding ) The ranger usually used a piece of what looked like a broom handle 2' long to shove down the exhaust. If it went all of the way in, you had no arrestor and got a ticket. After the first time, we just stuck a piece of expanded metal lath inside the expansion chamber, behind the tail pipe (2-strokes). Later we were always very stealthy and avoided "officials" as we refused to buy Green Stickies for our bikes (a matter of principle).

I now see the light! I guess you west coast fella's have more of an issue with spark arrestors and riding in ORV State Forrest and National Forrest areas. Back here in the East, we don't have that much of an issue, Why, because we don't have much access to those types of lands like you do. Our ORV places are far and few. Mostly we're on private lands (with permission or memberships of course).
I would gladly add a spark arrestor to my can if I had the access to more ORV lands. BTW, wonder if all those Harley riders with straight pipes throwing 4 yard flames out would worry about this issue.

Thumb Spark Arrestors for Wings

Good news lads and lasses,

I sent an e-mail to Marovic, the guy who makes Wings. I asked him about spark arrestors for his product. He is going to be designing and making some soon. He just could not give me a definite time of when they would be ready. So be patient and buy some Wings for your KTM.
I was out for a tear today with some friends. We did a 120 mile ride up island to the Crow and Gate Pub. I love the sound of the Wings.

Cheers
Richard
