Trying to get 'off the grid' in corn country aint always easy.....but sometimes it is possible.

When there's no other choice apparent.......

Look for trees....trees=water....water=curves. You gotta take what you can get.

Still in the hunt.

Looks like it's time to go into rain avoidance mode.

When you're suddenly surrounded by gray skies and lose track of how many times you've changed direction....and you don't have a compass or gps and the road signs are kind weird....

Yeah, I got confused for a bit and didn't know which direction I was headed!

...but it didn't take too long to regain the N/S and E/W grid....example, I knew it was either North or South by the signage but not which one

Don't worry....I finally figured it out and got on an Easterly track towards Indiana.....

Crashed at tpar's place in Indiana that night...even though he wasn't even home! He got home from work late after midnight while I was asleep and sent me on my way Tuesday morning. Sorry, forgot to get his pic standing in the driveway in his jammies.

Curves in Indiana?

OK...now I was getting homesick for the Appalachians.

Coming into Salem the state hwy had become pretty straight....I knew there must be some fun riding to be had back to the West in the Hoosier NF.....but home is to the East.

Real horsepower!!

To head over to Hoosier would certainly mean an extra night on the road....

The call of my own pillow after 20 days on the road must have been pretty strong....

Crossing into Kentucky.

Weirdest silo I've ever seen!

It would be a 700 mile day with less than 200 of it on 4 lane if I were to make it all the way home......

gonna have to suck it up and ride a few straights....

Some. not all.
