OK back to my pics.....

Friday morning lining up the Late Train.

Next pic I take is from the scene of the crash.

I was leading on a road that I knew had a lot of slag and sand on it as recent as a month ago. Started out tip toeing along and seeing that it was much, much cleaner now gained some confidence and began to push a little faster and got bit in a downhill ess turn. ooops. My gear held up and the only scratch is a very minor one on my hand where my old glove ripped open...jacket and pants have small tears but none made it through to my skin.

The bike stayed down on the lowside and spun 180 thankfully stopping on the edge of the road.

I was too quick picking up the pieces for anybody to even get a shot of it down...and almost as quick to pick up a few little bits and get on down the mtn for a test.

All was A-OK mechanically with just a little road rash.

Not too many more pics as the fall had my camera acting funny and then it started raining so I stowed it in my top case. All the bouncing around in there seemed to have fixed it and it's working OK again.

Pit stop in Sugar Grave after a clean run over George's Gap!

Then off to lunch at Sharpies.

Saturday morning we awoke to light rain during breakfast but then it eased up and people began heading out for a ride.

My group rode in the rain all the way to the lunch stop at the Farmers BBQ....went also rode down Stony Cr in all the slop to the Lk Watauga overlook on 321

It was just a light sprinkle but I had a terrible time with my shield and glasses fogging up.

We had cell service here too and I decided to reroute into drier areas as it looked like my planned route would be remaining in the wet.

Bike breaker gave me some anti-fog stuff that worked great for part two. Alright, lets gear up and go!

When 421 "The Snake" is your plan "B" how can you go wrong?

Kyle B's group was already there as well as a group of vintage British bikes.....this is the scene I caught after waiting in line for the can. Should have held it a bit longer....

Suddenly we're the only ones left.

We discussed our options from there and Backbone Rock was the winner.

Can you see the shirtless bike breaker atop the rock?

How about now?

This was his view of me.

Went out to rinse the sand off the bike and do a little crash repair estimations..but first I cleaned off a special spot for my moran badge.

The airhorn is back to full volume after shaking out some pea gravel.

The hand guard mounted right back to the barend that was straightened by hand on the roadside. The highway peg on the crashbar went back into place with a little foot power. The blinker went back together as well and just needs a new lens and bulb, pick it up Thu for $6.

The only other item that actually broke was the RAM mount for my SPOT tracker and it looks to be made of a porous metal.

This year's RDV sticker was attached pre-slide.

Very fortunate and thankful to have escaped injury as well!

Perfect spot for the new sticker.
And very applicable.
