She'd never been to the Black Hills before so the rest of the day would be spent checking off some 'tourist duties' Crazy Horse lies just north of Custer so it would be first on the list.

Much like Mt. Rushmore, there's big open views of it from the roadway as well.

Tourist!

The brown trees in this area were not the result of a fire....beetles are killing them.

We continued to ride south into what Custer SP calls the 'wildlife loop' hoping to see some buffalo.

Unfortunately about all we seen on this run was a few 'wild' (yeah right) donkeys hamming it up in a parking area.

The plan was to head up across Iron Mtn. to Mt. Rushmore but we were getting hungry and it was starting to look like rain.

We found a little horse camp/store/cafe and decided it looked like as good of a place as any to have a BBQ sammich out on the porch.

As we were sitting there finishing our sarsaparillas the bottom fell out!

That's what I call Winning.

30 minutes later the sun was shining bright again and we were getting our first views of the monument in the distance....

It was asking a lot to get a zoom shot from that far away but I tried.

That's all the little camera had.
