We took a look around and there were a couple of atv trails on the opposite side of the yard but they were pretty 'grassy' meaning not heavily traveled. Looking back at google satellite views I'm betting they go down to a remote lake that looks to be very near.

They had a pretty fancy set up back there...(we were a good 9 miles off the road) this little externally fired sauna hut was a nice touch and vry typical of the Scandinavian culture of the area.

Now if this is your camp...we didn't touch a thing! But please invite us back for a party!

So we doubled back out the way we had ridden in having decided that was enough big bike adventure for the morning...

Next up was a simple slab run down the Vermillion trail to Duluth.

Still struggling with the on the fly shots...but getting a little bit better.

This was my typical angle before rotating and cropping....decided to leave this one alone for ya.

We rolled into town past the old Fitger's Brewery on our way to the harbor.

It's been converted into eating and shopping and stuff....

The harbor was a crowded touristy mess for a Thu morning so we rode up the hill to Skyline Dr and the Enger Tower.

It was warm too. Had started out near 40f at my parent's place just a few hours ago and now it was near 80f before lunch time!

Didn't bother with the tower itself this time but grabbed a few shots more shots of the harbor below......

There's no optical zoom on that old Sony...this is what you get when you zoom in digitally.

We were about to head across that bridge and into the Land-O-Cheese.

Reddog* has some more shots from Thu posted back a few pages CLICK HERE to review. I know he more so maybe he'll post them up too........

It was now Reddog*'s turn to lead and see how many dead ends he could find.

Lunch on the water in Ashland, WI

...and a typical cross section of any small town Main St in the Northland.

I'm more glad that it didn't turn into a sand run!

Ya know I got into one near Eagle River later in the weekend that wasn't even as bad as what we rode in the UP last summer but I wasn't enjoying myself much.

Skeered to look.

It actually looked normal again at Pansy's place.

That was a pretty strange looking wear pattern though...also think that I have my steering head bearings just a little too tight right now.

Even that didn't seem to bother me as bad as that sand I got into on Saturday though.

I just wasn't feeling the love that day, I guess.
