Thanks all!

But I'm not so sure paleo approves of that popcorn...but I bet Ernie does!

I should have taken pics of all the nice puppies I met...but that didn't happen.

I did take a pic of a funny looking bridge...may or may not have been crossing over into 'sconnie here.

I have no reason to post this pic as it was taken by accident and serves no purpose.

But I bet that I was having more fun than they were up there.

You were really thinking about the contrail conspiracy...

Once in Wisconsin I hopped off onto the 'alphabet roads'

Their county roads are labelled with letters rather than numbers, remember that if you should ever travel the land-o-cheese.

I was on my way to Rapid_Roy's from Grainbelt's and google maps thought it was 350 miles....my odometer added another 100+ to that by spelling instead of counting.

I zig-zagged along the bluffs of the Mississippi, that's where the fun is as the roads along the river bottom are flatter and straighter but still scenic.

Riding a few miles on WI 35 right on the mighty Mississip...looking for the next road to climb back up into the bluffs......

Lots of big barns....but rest easy knowing I didn't take many pics of them.

The narrow strips of pavement that turn back to gravel intermittently as you zig-zag through hilly farmland is a little bit reminiscent of the state of Virginia as times......

The hills aren't quite as big and the roads not quite as twisty but it's still pretty darn nice!

The Minduro Cut.....

....is very twisty and very much like a road in either the Appalachians or Ozarks.

I still had lots of miles of back roads to run to get to Roy's but it looks like I forgot to take anymore pictures until being firmly parked in his garage with a load of old airheads!

Thanks for showing the fact that Wisconsin does have some Great roads!
Wish they was closer.

I had a great time at Roy's 4th of July party for family and friends and am grateful to have been invited!

My camera was still in my riding jacket down in the garage but I did pull out the trusty old phone for some quick documentation.

It's Roy's party and he can play if he wants to!!

Pansy and Feo made the drive up to Milwaukee from Peoria and back as holiday day trip! Blue Mule also made the ride down from Green Bay, eh...oh sure.

There was dancing to go with Roy's singing...kids don't know any better.

People were in the pool earlier and the campfire was getting started for later....lots of great fireworks that night too.

Oh, and the food was pretty darn good too.

Don't worry...I'm getting ready to show what great road Illinois has next.

Reddog* and I had excellent good fortune dodging rain and thunderstorms along the first half of this loop.

But I hadn't looked at the radar before leaving Roy's on a ride straight down through the center of IL to Brad1098's place down in the bottom of the state.

I was just West of Chicago on I-39 when I took my first peek.

Looks like the race is back ON!

Happy to report that I remained in the dry once again...and it was nice to be under cloudy skies too as I've been baked like a tater in these corn fields on trips gone by.....

I passed up many an old barn like that one above without taking a pic...you'll just have to go see for yourself.

I arrived at Brad's under partly cloudy skies and mild temps....welcomed by open arms and two thumbs up! Does it get any better than that?

Just a little note......the riding in southern IL down along the river bluffs below St. Louis does not suck either.

Plenty of little twisty one lane roads if you take the time to look....or have the advantage of being shown around by a local.

While the girls were out celebrating a birthday I got to see a few of his Dad's 'toys' before we met back up with them later.....

Word is that this is the oldest college in the state! Mt Shiloh...I think.

Your dad has cool toys. Think he would like to adopt another son?
