Sunday ROBBLE and I followed Gaston Gagne home. Always a good choice.

Here he's turning the over to me for a little while....I'd hand it back again a little later.....

ROBBLE

I'm pretty sure that my not having a third gear and always riding around one handed to take pics slowed them down....too bad.

NC 197 ....but not the typical pic you see of it....

One side of that mountain remains unpaved.....

That's always a good place to have the lead!

Just below where I think the pic that Bert posted was taken.......

Lots of pic-less twisty back roads led us to Little Switzerland, where we headed on down what's now known as the 'diamondback'....Gaston leading the charge.

Then I rotated to the end of the line as we approached Lake James and began looking for a place to eat.

Here's the place we found.

Back on the road and past the mouth of the Linnville Gorge.....

...and that's it.....75 miles from home and I quit taking pics

I'm sure there's probably a pic of everything between here and there in this thread already!
(and besides, those colors aren't at peak yet...I need something to take pics of over the next couple of weekends too)

BIG time up at Rick's cabin!!

Thanks to all that made it happen!!

Wow!
I thought hard about riding down to the cabin party but decided my rear tire wouldn't make it. Now I am even more sorry I didn't, should have changed tires.

Just got caught up.

This thread is too photo heavy to look at at work and I don't always get on at home. Great series of shots the last couple of weeks.

I still need to get up there some day.

Are we going to keep up the tradition of the DL 650 camping area?

I took a bunch of pics of our bikes frozen and damn-it... they just disappeared off of my phone!

Dang it Bert...I forgot too and have not logged onto DDS lately.

Nice looking Tiger...how do you like it?
Kevin,
The Tiger hauls the groceries. I got a good deal on it and have really enjoyed it so far. I flew into Nashville and rode it back to Central Florida over the summer.
Read about it here.

Did a little trip to Southern Georgia here.

And I've already given you the link to our little trip last weekend in NC/TN/Ga

We need to get together and ride.

Sorry, forgot to turn the flash off, the camera didn't recharge till you was through the water. Didn't think to ask you if you wanted to try again.

My wife's mom and sister are here visiting...wife wanted her sis to go for a ride with her. I decided to follow them around the block as they swapped back and forth between the two Hondas.

Turned out that I was the one that needed a baby sitter.

...the plug I put in out in Colorado pulled out....not a bad run.

They survived and I went out to see if there were any fall colors close by...

It's patchy around here with some tree bare and one next to it still green.

It's all same road, different day....let's see if things have changed over by the park....

....still pretty green in this field....

.....little bit of gold here in the woods....

more color here compared to last weekend....

I blurred my shot on Apple Rd.

...but the main road is looking more 'fall like'....

....as is the park itself.

The trick or treaters there had me a bit worried though so I didn't hang around.
