The ride home wasn't without it's own excitement...first there was this roadblock!

I expected to see flying monkeys here!

...just as I was getting up to speed....

...a flock of turkeys tried to have me for Christmas dinner!

I just can't resist a closer look.....

.....but now I've got 'the man' watching me.

ooops...gotta crop that to read it.

....and the scariest sight of the day.....do you really think somebody might be living in that?

There's a noticable difference. I really enjoy looking at the world through your lens, now, even moreso .

Congratulations on the new toy !

Thanks Dave! It's amazing what having a clean lens can do, eh?

Thanks! I think you'll like the movie. I need to watch it again as it's been a few years since I last viewed it.

...an interesting tidbit about it, one of my former co-worker's sons had a small part, the little red headed kid that came up to Mel in the pub and said something like "I wanna kill some redcoats!" Lots of locals had parts as extras but since the kid had a speaking part he was eligible for royalty checks and not just a one time payment.

Woke up to some yucky weather this morning...30s and light rain/drizzle.

...but by mid afternoon the skies had cleared the temp was back up around 50. After walking the dogs and doing a little bit of yard work I decided to head out for a sunset spin and see if I might stumble onto anything pretty...

Unfortunately I didn't have any luck with that.

Missed the proper lighting by...this...much.

Well if the sunset turns out to be a bust maybe there'll be better luck looking for Christmas lights after dark.

One last attempt at hunting down a decent backdrop but the colors just weren't going to pop tonight.....

Was I too early or too late?

Cruised around for a little while occasionally parking on somebody's sidewalk.....

Festive as some places looked...this revolutionary war era church reminds me more of halloween than Christmas.

.....maybe it's the ghosts of Christmas pasts?

It's not like that in the original copy on my pc so I uploaded it to photobucket to compare.

I just have a free account on photobucket so that pic will disappear after a few views but it didn't get all weird like the smugmug link, did it?

Your Photobucket pics are still there on their servers but.....

They have...or used to have anyway, a monthly bandwidth usage limit on free accounts. After it was used up all your linked pics would disappear until the next month when you started over with your allotted bandwidth.

Have you ever been browsing through a thread and seen this?

I turned off smugmug's default 'color correct' setting for that gallery and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Here's a screenshot of the difference that I was seeing in the resolution of the sky.
