jjsorkin had gone into town to meet up with a friend of his and pinged my phone to let me know where they were hanging out.

On my ride into town one of Krautbikeman's MSF courses was spotted in a parking lot.....but no KBM as he was running a class himself in another location. So we never did meet up with him.

The rain had quit and it was once again safe to roam the streets.

The new 'big' Tiger.

I'm a sucker for the 70s

After a pass down Main with no luck finding a free parking spot....the bike was left in front of the BMW, Ducati, Triumph dealer and a hike across the river ensued.
It aint easy being cheap!

It's a good thing they had so many of em...cause most of em were covered in mud and unreadable during the main events!

I bet it'd be fun to follow you around Daytona! Hey, somebody has to carry the bail money, right?

I was hungry for dinner but went back to camp to see if anybody else had the same idea of getting some grub before race time.

This is what I found.

It was ridden all the way to Daytona from New Orleans loaded with camping gear by this character that has been permanently banned from the internet.

Rumor has it that he has been approved to attempt a run at the "Wall of Death" that's located up at Destination Daytona on that little Honda Passport.

If you happen to be down there this week and would like to see that...send me a PM.

He wasn't the only permabannee I found out at the speedway I'd post their former screen names but I'm afraid that it may be a bannable offense

jjsorkin made it back to camp as well and the 4 of us weaseled our way into Hooters for some pre-race hot wings!

y'all know what a Hooters waitress looks like so don't go askin' me pics of them.

Then it rained....and rained some more, then the races began and it rained some more.... I didn't even bother trying to get any pics of the 250 heats as it rained the entire time.

But then suddenly it quit just as quickly as it had started, the track was nothing but soup and Kevin Windham dominated his heat race like he up against amateurs.

...and here he comes again! Only the top few riders dared to take that as a triple in the sloppy conditions that night! He tripled it every time around even though nobody came close to him in that heat!

Hoping for some 'holeshot' action in the next heat...

Here's a little crop of that last one.....

Stewart took the lead in heat 2 of the 450s and basically ran away with it!

Villipoto was in the same heat and crashed early....even the holder of the #1 plate was limiting himself to doubles on this jump!

My little scouting run during practice paid off and we were able to stake out a great place to watch! Standing on the banked nascar track was a bit hard on the ankles tho. So jj decided to set down and take a little break during the futile attempt at track maint. before the mains.

I was afraid that none of my still would be worth a crap under those lighting conditions so I switched over to video after snapping this shot of the 250s lining up for the main.

I had never shot video with this camera before and it took me a few tries to figure it out.

In fact a few had to be deleted.....these next two are short clips of Barcia taking the triple and testing the rev limiter.

You can definitely see some contrasting abilities in the mud! remember that super cross is usually raced on an indoor stadium track!

And the finish of the "Lites Main Event"
