Thanks ladies!

Are they good for anything besides looking nice?
Are they desirable to have in a pasture, can cows eat them in hay or are they more of a weed type nuisance?

It's a weed, but with lots of good uses: Centaurea Cyannus (protected species in Germany)

You can put the petals into the salad, it's good for digestion, clear acne, make "tea" and use it for puffy eyes and cough, and/or cure the plague (ok, the last one was never confirmed)

There's a no parking sign up there along side the road....took that to mean I needed to be down in the woods.
