I think it looks like it will be a muscle bike, no doubt about it. Looks pretty cool to me.

If the estimated weight is in the ballpark, it ought to be a relatively good handling bike like the ZRX1200 (about 530lb full tank) with maybe a beastier motor.

I like it. It'll probably cost close to 20K though. Bet that rear tire won't be cheap.

Word has it that the new "devil" will have better power and a faster 0-60 time than any bike in its class currently, or under development through 2012.

"Power Cruiser", competing against the likes of the V-Max.

Surely that depends on how they define the class, though.

The Diavel is going to be the same sort of weight as a K1300R, but if it runs the Multistrada's engine then it'll be down on both power and torque against the K. I'm not sure how it compares to a B-King or V-Max.

That said, there was talk of a 1500 cc version of the Testaretta lump.

It's also competing with HD's V-Rod, which sells well in Europe.
I'm excited to see what the finished product is. There are a lot of folks that like "power cruiser" styling that want quality brakes and suspension to go with it. Maybe Ducati will offer a S version with Ohlins bits...

No one cares who thinks what about it if it will sell.

A lot of people will post "Why?!" in this thread, and that's the answer
to that question.

I think it's sort of pointless criticizing this bike's aesthetics when all anyone has seen are prototype and test bike photos.

I think what will make this bike more revolutionary in power cruiser terms is that it will have a reasonable weight. All that power in a much lighter bike will make it a much more fun bike all around.
