They would put all different kinds of stuff on the carpet and show you how well the vacuum would could suck everything up." It's amazing."

Fair food

Fair food is always amazing. Everything fried in oil that is probably months old. full of flavor.

Mini Donuts are my favorite.

You get a whole bag of them with sugar and cinnamon. Nothing better

There are several different venders, the Carnies, and then there are the groups that will benefit from your purchase. I like to support the local causes.

mmmmmm bacon cheese burger with fresh squeezed lemonade and fresh cut fries.

There was a small Midway there. I don't know about some of those rides, they are looking kind of old.

The Draw Horses were cool. There were pulling 12,000 lbs

One of the best spectator events is the Fireman Muster.

Different teams compete in several events.

Franklin County Fair

Franklin County Fair , Greenfield MA

Another great day here in Massachusetts !! We have really had some great riding days lately.

This weekend is the Franklin County Fair in Greenfield MA.
The fair is a family event, mom , dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle and in Greenfield that means it is a family of 3

The important places to see.

There were the usual livestock events.

The farm equipment for sale. All the little kids got to sit on the tractors but they called security when I got on. May be it was the ATGATT

This is a staple of fair food. The older the frying oil the better

Every other vendor was fried dough

Big demand for the fried dough

The midway had all the games and rides.

All the Politicians where there too. The political arena has been part of the county fairs since the 1800's

The fairs are all very colorful. I love walking around taking photos.

The window salesmen were there.

The National Guard with their cool Hummer

Then there were the animals.

This poor guy had only his trailer, 40 x 8 to walk around in. Every time a little kid would talk he would stop and stare. It was sad to see him pace back and forth.

This is his trailer.

The bear show. Very cheesy and hooky.

The people running it were dressed like the Canadian Mounties

The bears were doing these silly tricks, riding a bike , walking on their hind legs, walking on their front legs.

I watched for about 4 minutes and then had to walk away.

I really don't like these types of animal shows.

This looks like a fun way to babysit the kids. I wonder how long the air supply will last? Maybe enough time to get a corn dog and fried dough.

This vendor does all this with only 2 gallons of oil, ALL summer!

Good thing it is REAL ITALIAN

This was from a different vendor, Garlic Guru. Now I love garlic but this had sooooo much garlic I was only able to take 2 bites. Probably should have gone with the REAL ITALIAN

They had a free side of salmonella with all meals

Local

Sweet!

Thanks for reminding me of my heritage...
I miss 'Home'.

This round barn was cool. Seems to be the main attraction at the fair.

Very spacious inside.

There were all kinds of competitions going on inside.

This is for the best pickle jar

The best jam or jelly

The best apples

I thought it was like a buffet

Or free taste testing

I thought they WANTED you to eat the stuff.

It all looked so good

I saw this kid, on a leash, taking a bite out of the giant pumpkin

So after people started yelling at me , security came AGAIN and asked me to leave the building

This guy was outside the barn. I think he said something racy to the woman on the left. I think she liked it.

Other acts there.

Nobody flying

Great Thread! Dirtgrlll and I have been riding the fair circuit or a number of weeks now. So far we have hit 3 in Ct and 2 in NH with more to come in the following weeks. I have to wonder if some of the vendors are franchised or just just mulitple traveling units Many in your pics were at the other fairs. We'll keep and eye out for you!
