manfromthestix, whatsgnu, drinkin40's

Thanks

It is cool to see these old tractors still working. What year is that orange Allis Chalmer from?

It seems that for every one you see working there are at least 10 rusting in a field. A lot of rusty machinery in VT. Also lots of collapsed barns.

After I stuffed my self at the farmers market I headed back to Silver Lake Campground for the BBQ and bonfire at the Cromag rally.

Man, have we been lucky with the weekend weather here in New England. Today was a perfect day for riding. I was headed to the Ashfield Fall Festival, MA.

My first stop was Southwick MA to watch the motocross races.

I had never been here before and since it was on my way to Ashfield so I decided to check it out. Several of my patients race here and now I know why their backs are out of whack when I see them on Mondays.

Time to move on to the festival.

Thanks 257bob

I sat down on the curb to eat my pizza and it is a whole other world from that view. More of a dogs eye view.

Here are a few more photos from that view point.

The Ashfield Fall Festival was all along the main street. When I pulled into town all you could smell was pies baking, burgers cooking, donuts cooking. The smells were amazing as compared to the county fairs where the overwhelming smell was manure.

First things first. Pumpkin donut and apple cider from the Boy Scouts.

They were very popular.

My mouth is watering just looking at that picture

There was a huge flea market.

These guys were freaky. The kept staring at me

This was the best event for the food so far

Everything homemade

This was one of the first smells that got into my helmet when I drove into town.

The fire house was a hot spot for food. Curley fries, meatball grinders, chili

Inside the church was more amazing food.

This is what I was after. Apple pie with a big hunk of cheddar cheese.

After leaving the fair I went for a little ride around to enjoy the be-u-t-full day

This was a cool machine. Looks like an old grader. But no engine.

In New England the types of fairs change with the the seasons. The county fairs are late summer to early fall. Next comes the fall festivals, the harvest festivals, Octoberfest, pumpkin and scarecrow festivals and the halloween haunted festivals.

I found this link that has tons of events for New England.
