I grew up in the Kootenays (East) and live back there again... or at least between there and NE Montana. Was going through your ride report thinking "Yup... nice... uhuh..." and then saw your picture of Dos Padres. Was posted down at the Wet Coast for nearly 20 years, and when I returned home in 1996, I can't say I was sorry, the Lower Mainland having changed so much from the late 70's to the late 90's.
But... Dos Padres... man, now that I miss. The absolutely best damned nachos and salsa ever! We used to blaze down there a couple of times a month, at least. Awesome food and service. And Mary's... that's an adventure in itself... Thanks for the RR... and not being shy about parking the bike and hiking... always interesting to see your home grounds through somebody else's eyes. I see ADV types riding through here all the time, and they give some stunning places a miss, just because the road doesn't run right by it. |
