I like the bike; seems the abs rant has to end! I think its simplistic retro styling is refreshing to see. Probably just enough power and needs nothing else for what it is. Sometimes I wish American car companies would break out some old molds and do like motorcycle companies and remake a 67 Camaro or an older Chevelle with some updated emisions and minor things and be done with it.

It's a particular type of logical fallacy.

I'm an old fart, and I like ABS, is it still a fallacy?

How about the guys that want to discuss ABS more than this bike start a separate ABS thread and leave the discussion of this bike to the people that are actually interested in it?

Come on, you're killing this bike thread with ABS bullshit.

I'd sure take a look at the W800 if it comes to the US. Meanwhile my fixation/search for a nice W650 continues.

W400 is a nice little bike to ride when I am not in a hurry. It enjoy a lower tax, good fuel consumption and easy on the consumables. I am still running on the stock tires, brake pads/shoes and drive chain after 25,000km (15,600 miles).

If I am in a hurry, there is always another bike in the garage

If they do bring it here, no more of this "other countries get the good colors" crap.

We were denied the brilliant red/black/gold pinstripe tank that Canada and the UK got on the W650. Canada for god's sake! Do they actually think there is that much difference in taste between them and the US?

I really, really, really wanted that tank! ;>)

Here's the red and black one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfgMJdUBC44

Speaking of tanks- I wonder if all the farkles will show up like they did for the 650 (I have an aluminium tank on mine).
I wonder if a company cpuld make any money by ofereing after-market things like that, themselves?

I guess the other question too is whether the photo leading this thread is a real press photo or is an MCN photoshop based off the W400. Because it kinda seems like the latter.

Prices for a good used W650 are running near more than what you could buy one for when they came out. W800 would be a great bike. Color, that's what they make paint guns for. Brakes > ABS < you can have it. I hated it on my BMW's. Have not missed it in my last two main highway bikes. Riding year around in all kinds of weather. But, that's just me.
