It's easier to strap a GS on a RT than a CRF50 on a GS

Yeah, I've done this before; but some things seem to be easier than others.

A few years ago, my family got to leave for vacation earlier than I was able to. So I strapped my son's GS to the back of my R1150RT and rode down a few days later. My son was three year's old at the time and some things were just more simple back then.....

Fast forward 4 years, my son's 7 years old and we're not riding in the driveway anymore. He's got his own bike - a CRF50. He loves it and his daddy loves seeing him ride.

We got an invitation to ride at Enoree (near Whitmire, South Carolina) this coming Sunday. My son rides at a pace that's about idle speed in second gear on my CRF250X so I thought I would take the GS to make the trail more challenging. The weight and the fact that I have on "TrailWing" tires (does that mean the bike will fly out from under me?) should add to the excitement.

When the thought of taking the bimmer crossed my mind, I immediately envisioned trailering my GS and the Fiddy down to the trail. But then I thought "Trailer my GS??? How can we RIDE down to the trail??"

When I got home, I spent some time playing with this idea......

But I just can't get comfortable with the idea of letting my son ride between me and than CRF50. It's possible we may just trailer the bikes or maybe get my friend to trailer my son's bike and we'll ride the GS down to meet him and his son. Who knows?

Yes, this is the beginning of a Day trippin' RR. Next update after the ride!

Ha....for a second there I thought the 50 was in the driveway until I realized it's on the back of the GS!

I never could get comfortable with the idea of strapping the CRF50 to the back of my GS. So this past Saturday, I took my son's bike to my friends house so that he and his son could trailer it down with their bikes.

My son woke up on his own, no alarm and came downstairs with all his gear on. He was ready! We took a few pictures in the driveway.......

A pic of me that Thomas took.....

He wanted to drive but since he couldn't reach the pegs, I got to.....

Someplace down in South Carolina while riding. Pretty good shot, Thomas!

The obligatory "mirror shot" taken by my son....

And then I got a picture of him....

Once we got to the trail, we were all excited about riding. I didn't get any pictures before the ride.

On the trail....

One of these is not like the other......

Our final break after riding for a few hours....

My little adventure rider.....

Three of our crew of 5.
It was a good day of riding Enoree.

And if you want even more, I threw a video together

Everything on the parking lot side. Thomas was WORN OUT when we were done! I'm not sure he could've handled any more. I had to keep a close watch on him on the way home. He was able to stay awake but it was tough for him

Laugh Wow, just Wow!

You should be the proudest Daddy in the world! Wish I could have done something like that with my boy when he was that size.

Congrats!
