After several trips of saying that we would try to find our way over to Del Rio from Waterville, we finally got around to doing it.

There is a lot of exploring I need to do over this way.

Good ole Rocky Top/ Rocky Top, Tennessee....

We basically didn't see another soul out there except for the guy cleaning his gutters out on Punkton Road.

I thought I was going to take a bath here.

We said a little prayer for Schumacher here.

I made it home in time for dinner. Nice day!! Thanks to those guys for calling me.

Happy New Year to you as well. Health and prosperity to you.

I'll lead a ride now that I know where I am going. Sort of

Eek

The flu has kicked my ass for the last week.

We have had wind and no precipitation for a few days. Time to head out to Cocke County again. This place continues to reveal itself every trip I make.

Still a tad gooey out there today.

This is the first of several "handyman specials" we came across today.

Another trip to Rocky Top, Tennessee. I'm standing at Rocky Top Gap. That is Chestnut Ridge as near as I can tell.

I have now run Old Fifteenth all the way through from 107 to Grassy Fork. That is a really neat road. So we decided at the corner of Grassy Fork and Green Corner that there was too much day left to short cut out via Green Corner. Besides, how much time could a Snowbird Run add, right?

This was no easy feat.

The Hondas climbed right up. This is without question the first time I ever climbed a hill unsure if I wanted to go back down. I'm pretty sure going back down would have involved picking my motorcycle up repeatedly.

Once we rounded the corner to the south face, the snow was gone.

Martin Luther King day. It was 60 degrees.

But we had another arctic blast. Keep your nose covered with your tail!

Today was a weird start. Job interviews, crazy live in peeps, improperly disconnected kickstand switches.

We decided to head up toward Pinhook, but things got icy as hell and then we had a situation.

The passenger was trapped in the car when we arrived but got herself free. Then the driver got kind of shocky and weird. Luckily the driver in the car offered assistance.

We headed back down into the nicer weather.

I had never been out this way.

My mind is filled with silvery stuff.

The driving to riding ratio was kind of high, but the quality made up for it. thanks for the views.

Less than two miles down the hill, the pavement was dry. Very weird weather yesterday.

You keep a very nice ride report. Do you do most of your riding in the NC/TN vicinity?
