update
Joe and I hit the road 01-Sep-10 for our trip. Worked our way thru Oklahoma, Texas Panhandle, New Mexico, Colorado and met up with the chase truck yesterday in Baker, NV.
Final loading up the morning we left on 10-Sep. ![]() The Chase Truck on its way out to Baker, NV with WildCat at the wheel. ![]() Today started the TAT Western Section for some Unfinished Business. ![]() This morning we met some guys doing the TAT on KTM's at the Stateline Motel in Baker. They got out before we did, but we ran into them a couple times on the trail, Check out their ride report 14 days for a great story and great guys. Thanks for sharing the trail and some fellowship guys. Mark, Paul, Mike and Mike. Great Group of Inmates for sure. ![]() Like I said, just a quick update. Will do a full RR when we get time. Riding that old Mountain Bike takes one hell of alot of energy and to tired to sit down and start thinking about all the details. One thing for sure. THE TAT gives and takes, but it always gives more than it takes. That is a fact my friends.

How cool is this?
Great fun reading your intro. Have been reading the 14 day RR by the WA boys when they crossed paths with you.Nice when Inmates colide (how you spell that?) in the out back. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Jed

Major Problem today
Today was a hell of a day to say the least. The DT400C Mountain Bike finally started showing its signs of wear and tear after hauling me from Kitty Hawk, NC to Battle Mountian,NV.
Motor seized twice today. Babied it to within 20 miles of Battle Mountain. Thought at first I had water in the gas, Did some cleaning on the carb, drained some gas and off we went. Still ran like shit. After two more complete carb cleanings and one more seize we finally made contact with the Chase Truck with the Spot Tracker. WildCat executed the perfect intercept while we limped in to Battle Mountain. Loaded the Mountain Bike and Unloaded the WR250R to finish the ride to town. Task at hand. To tired to deal with it tonight, need a clear head in the morning. In the morning we going to check for air leaks, it appears to be running lean due to some forgien introduction of air. At the moment we have parts located in Pocotello ID and a motor. Chase truck will dispatch to pick up support and hopefully get the Mountain Bike back on the TAT. We are still looking for options closer as the Idaho run will be at least a 14 hour round trip. Do what we got to do. Final option for support is one ADVRider Inmate has volunteered to load a moter at my shop and a 1976 DT400C Restored bike and haul to Battle Mountain. Hopefully in the morning we can find the issue and procure the solution. Any of you Inmates out there that might have a DT400C motor ready and is close to Battle Mountain, NV, I would be grateful for help, advise or support as I am out of my normal roaming area at the moment. I know it may be silly, but I have a personal need to get this damn vintage bike to Port Orford, OR. Maybe someday I will add my reason to the RR, but trust me on this on. Something that I personally have to do. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Working on the Dt400 at the moment in the hotel parking lot at Battle Mountain, NV.
Piston looks good, compression is ok at 120 psi, so starting to check on other issues. Any suggestions is much appreciated.
