ya they run very bright with both turned on. no modifications to the electronics.
the h3 55w that come in these burn out pretty quickly so many spares need to be had. i was thinking about doing a HID kit on these.

Regarding to install Plastic tank in DR 650 I can found some inconvenience which is how to attache the plastic base of the seat to the plastic tank, because according to the photo any attachement can be see on the tank, it´s means that front end of the seat will be free? or some hardware, that I can not see on the photo are include with the tank?
For your reference in this forum other person install Acerbis Plastic Tank but he shown the hardware to install it.
Please could you explain how to install this seat to the tank?
Thanks a lot for your support in this matter
Francisco, I'm not sure what bike you have, but when I installed an Acerbis plastic tank on my 1993 dr650 I kept the gold colored bracket used on the rear of the metal tank. You need that part to hold down the front of the seat. It's the one that the rear tank bolts went through.

Vapor speedo

Guys

Bit quiet here I'm looking at a Vapor speedo for my RS. Is it possible to run the tach from the stock tach input wire(s)?

Thanks!

+1 waiting for the answer.

Maybe if mine ever runs again I will give it a whirl since I left all the original wires in place. Six wraps on the cable got it close enough for me though.

My current DR satus: (Story Here)

Question Seating Valves...

Reaching out agian, this time about the seating of the valves:

Shop manual states "DO NOT use lapping compund". The local shop here in Costa Rica is confused by this. He says this can't be right, he insists on doing it with the compond and stated he would be unable to complete the work otherwise...

Can anyone shed some light on this? Will the head/valed be completely f*cked if lapping compund is used?

Thanks again!

I just got a '95 650EasyStart with less than 8,000 miles. Can I join your club?
Awesome group.

I have been trying to get through all 244 pages. I have lots of good notes and ideas so far. I made it to 116.

I have to do something with my Supertrapp exhaust. I need quiet for my daily commuter.

If he can't complete the work without lapping compound, he doesn't have the right equipment. That being said, if he must use lapping compound, ask him not to lap with your new valves. Have him grind a fresh 45 on an old valve and lap with that instead.

Derek
