Yeah I´m going this year. It will be my first time and I´m going there alone cause none of my friends ride bikes.

I'm no Sweeeede

..Im danish

My son (11 y/o) and I will take a week in Sweden this coming summer. We wanna get 'lost', i.e out in the sticks, where there is a bit of solitude, not too many others around and do a bit of fishing. Any recommendations? Preferably within 3-400k of the bridge in Malmø.

There seems to be poor interest in the Ireland trip so I have started to think of a different travel plan for the summer.

I´m thinking of riding from Sundsvall - Murmansk - North cape - Lofoten - rv 17 and back to Sundsvall.

Some company would be nice if someone is interested.

I don´t really like to plan my trips any more detailed than above. I like to take the day as it comes and ride till I get tired and then set up camp for the night somewhere in out in the nature (where thats allowed). I´m thinking that I´ll be taking the shortest (of the fun) roads between the places above.

My plan is to sleep in a tent as much as possible but stay at a hotel in Murmansk and rent some cabins in Norway if it´s raining.

The only thing I have to plan is that I need a written invitation from the hotel in Russia where I intend to sleep the first (and only) night in order to be let in to the country. Thats the way I have understood it from other threads.

I´m hoping to drive some really bad gravel roads in Russia so do you think your old XJ is up to it Kosmos?

Sounds great Kosmos! Show us a picture when you've bought it.

What year is it from? The first and last ones look the best in my opinion, most of the ones in between have hideous colors (but you can always repaint them).

Anyway good choice of bike, I can give you some tips about easy and fairly cheap upgrades that really makes a difference.

It's a -94 with 35000 kilometers on it! And I think it's the same colors as yours!

This coloring http://www.google.se/imgres?imgurl=h...:1&um=1&itbs=1

But this pattern:

Sorry for the long links, lol :P

With 35000km on the clock it´s hardly even broken in yet!

My bike is from the last year -95 (but registered as a -97) so it looks exactly like the bike on your second pic.

You can see all the different colors here:
