So, did you give up on the idea of selling framed sections of the roadbook? You could raise some cash for the next Dakar run, even more if you signed each one.
Thank you drc - that means a lot xx

As for the roadbok pages, no I haven't given up on that idea at all - however, the problem is that there are actually very few pages - I only have the roadbook from the day of my crash (that was still in the bike when I collected it), albeit it was a pretty long day... the problem with Dakar is the roadbooks are so big, you end up chucking half of it away each day, while the 2nd part just gets lost in the bivouac while you prep for the following day... next time, I'll make sure I keep them from day one!

I'll see what I can put together, and it is certainly something that I'll make available - everyone here on ADV has been particularly supportive, so I will offer them here first of course!

Ha! Funny you should say that actually... one of my other ideas for fundraising was to auction off bits of my current race bike that I'm no longer using - side panels, rear fender, water tanks, skid-plate etc. plus I have a carbon kevlar front fender that I will be getting signed by as many British Dakar finishers as I can...

Hopefully by Feb 2013, my name will be on it too!

Hi Jenny

Really excited to hear about the start of preperations for 2013, i followed you all through your first attempt but i regret i never got round to joining the official supporters...

Do you still have 'stock' of the merch listed on your website... i'd love to get involved nice and early with you 2013 success, cause we all know you'll crack it the second time! (sorry crack it may not have been the best choice of expression?!?

Also being a Yamaha Tenere nut.... don't suppose you'd take monthly installments for your Heros Legend Tenere? Ah i can only dream!

God Bless

Pete

Hi Pete -

I do have a few of the wallets, sunnies and buffs (and JMoRacing stickers of course!), plus a few hats left over... but the T-shirts are all sold and I don't really want to order any more until the new designs are ready, as my printer needs a minimum order...

Once the new shirts are ready, I'll sell a few packs with the existing sponsors merchandise, but I'm hoping for next year we'll have even more goodies... will keep you posted on progress!

Jx

ps. regarding the Tenere, I won't... but you might want to speak to Touratech, as I'm sure they can arrange finance?

I'll grab another shirt when you get them going. The Kriega wallet worked great for all my crap passports, credit cards etc on my recent 7500km ride.

Is the Yamaha YZ 450 F 2009 is usable for the JVO kit from 2009?

Different rear fream?

Or only the WR 450 F???

Hi Nagykovi - best to email JVO of course to confirm, but I imagine you could use the 'Light' kit (that is the front twin tanks and fairing, that I have on my bike) with the 2009 YZF, as I believe the mainframe of both '09 bikes is the same?

In fact it might be possible to fit the complete JVO kit, as the existing ear subframe is removed from the Yamaha anyway and replaced with a one-piece seat/rear tank unit, while the JVO airbox is mounted between the front twin tanks.

However, while I understand the YZF engine has the same overall dimensions as the WRF engine, the lack of an electric starter on the YZF means it's not ideal as a rally bike?

If you want more power, you can tune the WRF engine with various parts, but to be honest, the standard engine is powerful enough, and very reliable in stock tune?

Hope that helps...

It is a shame, I'm a JO kit owner but I have no so deep knowledge in Yamahas

May I use the WRF 2011 for my JVO kit (it is from 2009 I think)?

Any idea?

I'm sure you can - dimensionally, the current WR450 is the same as the 2007 model (alloy frame) onwards, so the original kit will fit the current bike...

Of course there is a rumour that Yamaha will finally produce a new WR model based on the reverse engine YZF motor and frame - maybe that will surface at some point next year, but we'll have to wait and see...

For the moment, the only thing different for 2011/12 model year is the graphics x

Jenny, the 2012 WR450 coming to the states has a YZ250F-based chassis and the motor has been fuel injected.
