Looking good! Things appear to be coming together nicely.

Any idea on when info on those supporter packs will be coming along?

Thank you all for your kind words and offers of support!

As many of you will be aware, I'll be putting together a supporters pack of quality merchandise together with a team T-shirt, that you'll be able to buy on-line - through the Desert Rose Racing website (so you can use credit card or paypal for example).

So far you'll be getting a pair of Dirty Dog sunnies - ('Big Dog' with polarized lenses, and ideal for on and off the bike), an Alpinestars baseball cap (or visor if you prefer), a Kriega Stash wallet (which doubles as an excellent tool bag too - photo of mine to follow shortly) and a Buff neack/head scarf in a choice of two colour ways. I'm also hoping to have one more item to include, together with the T-shirt of course...

The supporters packs will be a strictly limited edition of 50 (I'd have loved to have more, but this year that is all I've been able to obtain). All the proceeds will go directly towards the cost of my assistance and service support, so not only do you get some great gear for your donation, but you know your money is going directly towards keeping me going throughout the Dakar!

The cost of the pack will be £100 (GBP), and that includes postage to anywhere in the world.

I'm hoping the T-shirt design will be finalized by the end of next week, and as soon as the dedicated page is up and running on the Desert Rose Racing website, I'll let you know - and you'll be able to pre-order there (as you'll need to give your size for the T-shirt), with shipping by mid-December - in time for Christmas... So come the new year, you can sit there snag as a bug in front of the telly or your computer, with your hat, shades, buff and wallet (together with your Riff Raff Fleece I hope too), and cheer us on!

Jenny xx

That's looking really smart - I'm sure your sponsors will be proud to have their stickers on such a well presented bike .

Must be a bit odd having had all this increasing pace of build-up to your deadline, but it's not actually the race, instead you've got a month gap? Still, I suppose you might be glad to be rid of the bike and able to chill out a bit and concentrate on your fitness/recuperation.

How is the foot by the way?

No that's right - it's going to be sometime next week hopefully...

Patsy is [still] in Le Havre today, and it's been late nights for all of us recently.

I'll be trying to get it all together over the weekend, and going live next week...

Looks like my bike passed scrutineering (judging by the other Dakar thread), and I'll be race no. 173...

Thanks Uber' - yes, it took a lot of work and lot of late nights... but it's come together well and I'm happy with the prep (and so is Patsy, which is the main thing!)

I agree it is all a bit strange getting everything together so early, but like you say, it actually works well as it gives time to focus on the event itself now, rather than the bike...

My foot is doing well, but the ligaments still hurt when I walk more than a few hundred metres... I'm going to try getting on the mountain bike and exercising it that way...

I have strength in the foot/ankle now, but it's nothing like 100% yet, and may not be even by January... but it ought to be strong enough... well, it'll have to be won't it?!
