Sure thing - but he'll be in the support truck with Patsy and Tony, his riding days are over (due to a rather wobbly and wonky neck these days)...

Call Leatt.
Surely they'd have something that could help.

fuse block

Congrats on getting the bike away, hope the healing is going well.

Think I'm going to have to be quick to get one of your sponsor packs too.......

Question regarding the nav tower parts. In the attched pic from your build are the blade plugs attached to the fuse block soldered or crimped? did you add extra heat shrink to them? Have you piggy (hehe) backed them with one power cable coming in and then transfered it for one to the other?

Thanks for the well wishes Tileman, it's been emotional x

As for the connectors - yes, you are pretty much there - the [insulated] spades are crimped on (I needed to use insulated connectors as they are so close to the metal of the Nav tower itself), and I've added an extra sleeve of heat-shrink to support the wire going to the crimp from vibration - belt and braces, but hey...

There was a debate on a thread somewhere (might have been here in fact) about crimping vs soldering, or indeed crimping and soldering, which is what I do where I can - crimp the connection, but then puddle the solder into the end of the connector around the wire end on an exposed connector, just as a back-up.

One my bike there are two feeds to the fuse box, half are switched (for the Roadbook, IMO & fan) and half are permanently wired as required for the Iritrack, GPS and Sentinel.

What I did was take power directly from the battery to a toggle switch on the dash, and piggy backed the power into the switch to provide a second direct feed to three of the fuse box terminals, while the output of the switch provided the [switched] other three.

This way, the Iritrack, GPS and Sentinel stay live the whole time, and when the toggle is thrown, the other three become live too.

The two wires from the switch are just piggy-backed between each of the three terminals on the fuse box as you surmise - it's really the only way to do it on a multi-input fuse box like this one:

The post below the fusebox on the tower itself is a common earth for all six.

Hope that helps!

Jenny xx

Thanks Big Adv... but erm, that was Matt Hill's number... and anyone who's seen Race to Dakar will know what tough time he had!

Still, good job I'm not superstitious eh?!

Gonna do my best to make 173 a lucky number!

Pity its not 111 again eh?

I like your design big time, nice and simple. Be sure to get some piccies with all the organisation stickers on, I need to see if my Springbokkie is going to get his head chopped off!

BTW, What is the black jobbie under the fuse box to the right in the picture above?

Are you running a stock suspension or did you do an aftermarket job on it?

Also I see you are running only one ICO/IMO, and a cap repeater, and I right? I was wondering what you thought of running two ICO's, I see quite few people do it, but I find one pretty difficult to deal with by itself. Do you know why people go for two and what made you stick with just one.

How are you finding those ICO buttons compared to the stock one? Isn't that schattat's design you have on there? Again Im asking because I was getting tired of pressing the ICO buttons so bloody hard.

What are you setting your ICO/IMO to 100.00 (hundredths) or 100.0 (tenths of a km)? Could you tell me if this is the same as in the past?

Sorry for all the questions!
