Thanks for sharing, Jenny. Your detailed reports and viewpoints are highly appreciated! Gives unique insight for us spectators - and most likely an interesting source of inspiration for those planning to participate.
Such thorough reports from a participant are rare, and you should know this is VERY appreciated and highly valued. Needless to say this also plants some seeds on how to get involved and get racing. For us mortals not knowing how to charm the necessary sponsors your special angle-of-attack is a bonus in itself. I'm thinking of the "piglet" angle here - and your good sense of humour etc. Puts a big smile on my face, anyhow. Will be following your progress and sure hope to see you and the other girls finish and have a good time.

I really like what you've done to the pink fella there Nordie - It's tempting to go with that Tuareg design after all, although I still really like this version (the race number and Dakar 2011 will be bigger on the back of the shirt):

If they win the lawsuit, they'll maybe get a worn out motorcycle, bum bag and a pair of sunglasses.

I see so many fake disney shirts in local tourist shops and discounts stores, I really believe that Jmo has nothing to fear.

I'm glad everyone appreciates what I'm trying to do here - certainly if it helps or inspires just one other person to have a go (not necessarily Dakar of course) then that's great! I hope the information I can give is useful, goodness knows it would have been handy to have a similar thread to dip into when I was starting out racing and building bikes etc. Obviously things have been pretty busy here, and will continue to be so right up until the end of December when I fly out to Argentina - but I'll try and answer everyone's questions where I can! Toot toot! Jenny xx |
