No no no - I'll head down and bike-sit for you. I like the idea of test riding something with a clake. You know you can trust me

Laugh :)

i have done that many its not funny,
embarking on a new careeer shortly which i cannot wait to start, as Rob said, most of your frontline management courses, Dip courses will suit, depending on which way u are headed you can branch off into facilitation as i have done also, train the trainer etc, all fun,

lots of it is just for the little piece of paper, but can lead to many wonderful things down the track!!!!!

But for 16 there is no market and i try to dump my computer every 2-3 years and get a new one. with apple i try every 2nd generation as it is saving money when upgrading.

Oh and if any of you lot need some tech TLC i will be happy to help.

I work in IT for a large privately held multi-national as the Web Solutions Manager for Australia/New Zealand. I have done everything from Helpdesk, to Server Admin, to Network Admin, Software Development and now what is effectively Project Management.

I ride bikes - badly.

I have a degree in IT and have worked in the industry for over 10 years.

It (the industry) was going gang busters in the early 2000's only to be effectively over supplied with graduates/professionals from then until now. This has driven down wages (unless you have a super specialist skill) and opportunities not to mention other effects like the GFC.

The thing that shites me regularly is businesses whinging and moaning about their crap computers/servers/networks/applications etc - and when we do a business case requirements - it turns out they have spent two fifths of f*ckall in the last 10 years - and somebody on staff's brothers, mates cousin knew how to build a couple of PC's from parts he bought on eBay for $5. When they get a quote for $50K to make it right - they suggest we are ripping them off. Whoops (public static void (end rant))

Its good, it pays the bills - of the 40 currently working in IT here we have about 10 that ride and we do plenty of weekends together.

But I have been struck by the same thing on other forums as well..Its like the Sixth Sense - It see IT people - they're everywhere..

I get it

In my 53rd year Ive just completed the Torrens Track from Farina to Andamooka solo and unsupported.
The first 80 k's was a breeze, the next 80 and I was wondering if I'd ever been seen alive again.
I was beginning to miss you guy's ......
Wrong choice of tyres, too big a bike with too much gear and a hole in my water bottle.
I used to love sand but holy shit, that out there is something else.
