Sure Sure, It`s OK to spend two weeks in Spain. Until Spain follows you home. And lives in your trousers. And your Doctor can`t remove the case of Spain with anti virals.....

Not all HP cops are ar$ehole
On the way to work this morning, nice bright HP sitting behind me... saw him early when he pulled over some young guy in a WRX... I'm thinking, here we go, cops probably still pissed off from the previous driver and I'm gunna be the next target (not that I'm doing anything).
The lane to the left of me slows down, and, as I'm about to pass some pretend 4wd, I notice the driver with his finger on the indicator switch.. I get the old "this guy isn't going to look and just flip lanes on me" feeling... so I back off, just as he moves... a tad close for my liking. Yup, picked that one (again). The good thing there was no collision, no one fell over, nothing. Next thing is the cop comes round me, pulls up next to the 4wd and has a little chat... The cop could have done nothing, but he chose to talk to the driver. Nice job

I was riding along out in Brooyar State Forest today (right near Eagle's Nest lookout if you know the area) when I became aware of a loud noise. Thinking it was something to do with the bike I stopped to investigate.
As soon as I stopped I could hear it quite clearly despite helmet and earplugs (and pretty poor hearing to start with). When I removed the helmet and earplugs the noise was so loud as to be quite disorienting and almost physically uncomfortable. I've heard loud cicadas before but NEVER anything like this and it took me a minute to convince myself that's what it was. There was a base level of LOUD normal cicada noise but also another medium to high pitched sound (an "electronic" sounding noise or a bit like a circular saw) and it was VERY loud. Looking around I found hundreds of these on trees and posts around the car park.

So, what happened next...? Do the "alien mutant cicadas" use probes...? were you abducted...? How was the ride home?I remember the noise of these (different type probably) of cicadas during the summer down by the Macquarie River/backwaters of Mookerawa/Burrendong as a kid... and like you say... deafening at times... well over 100 Db. Them were big buggers you spotted!
