Yep, got charged for cutting a local line once, $1250. Reported Telstra to the Department of Lands, as their line had removed a survey mark - $20,000 fine, for each mark! Hope they liked that!

Best not to mess with optic fibre though, that stuff costs, and they charge by the hour to repair it!

Get the DBYD app on your phone. Makes it easy to get the services plans in the shortest possible time.

There a bit hit and miss out this way, once i stood on a telstra pit on the footpath and lined up the next one down the street. Marked a nice painted line where it should lay and managed to dig it up 6 foot away.

Enjoyed the rant Ecks man! Took me back.

Was in construction in my early 20's and set out my own jobs off the consultants plans. The amount of shit that you found that wasn't there or couldn't find even tho the plans said they were there was phenomenal.

I had a grader driver once who after I set out a few pegs for him to build some road to, would promptly bowl them all on his first pass after smoko (after I'd gone) and just go and build it by eye. The result was usually better than anything the designer planned or I could set out.

I won a tender once because one of the council blokes fucked up deluxe the amount of spoil that had to be removed from a slip. A 10 min site visit made that clear to me. By deliberately over pricing the per m3 rate on that and the backfill, and under pricing a couple of other items to balance it out, he cost his client a fucking huge amount of money.

Good times.

Hi David,
Is that including the TAC ripoff?
Oh hang on, it's a Safety Levy (not so disguised GET RID OF MOTORCYCLES TAX) isn't it.

Regards
