mines bog standard mate but youre right, i dont even need a pillion to overwhelm the rear shock. my fat arse is enough. i've rented a vfr before and bought mine to haul a bit of gear at pace.

did you respray the whole bike or just the damaged panels? havent seen that scheme before? looks sharp

it was a toss up between the vfr, a vtr1000 or a sp-2. would've loved an an sp-2 but i couldnt justify that much cash in storage in nz

What is it with Australian businesses?

In the last fortnight I have emailed enquiries to three Australian businesses with the intention of purchasing one or more of their products. I have not received a reply from any of them. Two of them were only small items needed to refurbish quite expensive products. If I can't buy these small items easily, I will replace the expensive component with a competitors product.
The third enquiry was for a $650+ item which I am ready to buy now, but just need some questions answered first. How hard can it be.
Local businesses squeal like little pigs because we buy stuff from oversees, and blame every one but themselves for us doing so.
It seems to me Aussie businesses in general (not all) have a lot to learn about customer service.
I think they must have had it too good for too long.
End of rant.

Yeah, I get 60 Emails a day & they drive me nuts. (I'm not in retail)
Nothing wrong with the phone. I know, it's a different world these days.....
It's easier to sit on your arse & send an email & expect people to jump....& I'm guilty of that to.

No, not yet. I am on the road all day and don't often get a chance to make calls during business hours. And surely it is not hard to set up an auto reply if the person that actions emails is away for a while.

Why do these businesses put an enquiry form on their websites if enquiries are a pain in the arse?
I don't expect these people to jump, but I thought they would be happy to if there is a chance they will end up with some of my money.

I recently sent an email to Zodiac Pool Chlorinators with a query about one of their products. They said they'd get back to me within two days.

An hour later a guy replies and gives me some direction about my problem....quite helpful too. We've since swapped a handful of emails and I couldn't be happier with their response and the outcome.

On the other hand, if we had a few more days, I'd take you through some of my 'contact us' experiences with Telstra....now that is an experience!!

I'm with u Hill Billy

'twas just yesterday that I told the guy serving at a local bike shop to stick the spark plug I was just about to purchase up his arse, because it was all too hard for a $7:50 part.
I have bought quite a bit from this store but that's it now, no more, 100 m down the road to another bike shop happy to do business with me.

I'm with you Hillbilly.
A company, that I have purchased from several times, has failed to answer two emails I have sent.
They will not get any more of my money.
