What you can't give up politics. You were doing so well.

Don't know much about Canary's only that they are yellow and I like yellow.

Not only wrong movie. Wrong bird, I do believe it was a swallow that they were discussing.

Even Google doesn't know.

Guessing that it is faster than that of a goat.

is that an underwater goat with flippers & a snorkel? ( BTW the one onthe left is named Briggs, she is almost 17, not bad for a feral goat!)

should I move to Australia from US?

My wife of 11 years is Australian. Her folks are getting up in years. She's been here in the us for 20 years now. We visit about every other year. We have a good life here and things are easy despite the current economy. But I'm more or less estranged from my family here. I love her entire family, her dad is the dad I wish I had, her mum's a little difficult but sweet. She's got two brothers that I have always felt very connected to.

We have a cat we adopted from the local shelter, she's great, she's our kid. The though of leaving her behind is just heart breaking. Yes we could take her but the process is not pleasant for a fragile cat. A dog maybe, cat not so much.

WWYD?

As someone who's lived in 10 countries: if you're under about 40, consider it, but if you're over 40, it's probably not going to work out in the long run.
As a rule of thumb, moving countries will set you "back" by at least 5 years in terms of lifestyle, savings, property, etc (and each move costs a woman at least 5kg, according to my wife!); bear in mind that there are some little everyday niggles that most Aussies just accept as "that's the way things are" that'll you'll find odd, annoying or plain fucking stupid: the cost of houses here is utterly absurd - easily the most expensive place I've lived in, and that includes London; the cost & process of registering a vehicle is mindlessly one-eyed and costs three or four times what it ought to; most everythng here is VERY much more expensive than you're used to.
I'm assuming you have a profession or trade that will permit you to pick up a position fairly swiftly? Bear in mind that although the 'official' unemployment figure is under 6%, the reality is probably two or three times that, as a lot of people are 'under-' rather than 'un-'employed and only work a couple of days a week.
Happy's comment isn't entirely fatuous: I have a younger brother who's a US citizen and he's often suggested that we move there (Florida): If we didn't have a child (let's face it: US Education sucks, big-time!), we'd probably consider it - but we are going over later this year on a bit of a Look-See to establish the viability for a few years' time.
Happy to swap specifics via PM!

The Mason - Dixon line is the border of PA and MD so Maryland is south of it.
