2011 XT660Z Teneré with ABS

According to what I can translate from Spanish the 2011 XT660Z Teneré has ABS as an option for 2011.

They say indeed that there will be an ABS version. Would be nice if you could also shut it off with the handlebar controls.

Hopefully that means that it makes it a little likelier to be imported to the US!! I thought I read somewhere that all bikes were going to have to have some kind of ABS in that States in a few years times.

YAMAHA........PLEASE IMPORT THE XT660z INTO THE U.S.A.!!!!!!

Here is a start. I have also called Yamaha customer relations who also suggested using petition.

Someone just posted this elsewhere on here but I figure I'd post the link too. It's another website overseas listing the XT660z with ABS.

http://www.tourenbike.at/2010/09/09/...-z-tenere-abs/

What I'm curious about now is, can you select ABS on or off?? Is it a push button/toggle switch? Is it on all the time? Is it a mode selector...dirt/no dirt??

I still hope and pray, this gives some light to bringing this to great bike to the U.S.A.

Please, please, please Yamaha.....Bring the Tenere to the USA!!

even the rep is pushing hard:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=108

alot of this stems from the huge cruiser mentality that has gripped this country in the last 20yrs and the fact that the late 80s attempt to bring in adv bikes in the us failed for the japanese. they were ahead of the curve for the us market at the time and have been afraid ever since. i do believe the success of the s10 in the us market is going to change alot of perceptions for the japanese in relation to the us market. the s10 is on the front cover of cycle world (i think that one) this month and that speaks volumes to the average motorcycle reader who is not in the know from advrider.

i can also see that an abs tenere will also go along way to getting this bike in the us as abs & FI is where everything is going. the adv rider who is willing to spend the bucks is wanting abs as part of the package... the hope is that it's selectable.

the tenere really is the next step for alot of klr riders and those bikes sell well. i'd say the the tenere would be a hit in the us.

I'd say you are 110% correct. In fact, I'd go-on to say that your prediction is an understatement. Just my very humble opinion...

I wouldn't walk 15 feet, to get a closer look at the Super Ten. But, I'd put a pre-delivery deposit, on a 660 Tenere, in half-a-heartbeat.

No offense to the Super Ten guys...I'm sure it's a great bike. But, I don't see what the sales of one have to do with the other...very different bike, slightly different demographic.

Agreed. I would go to the dealer today if I could order one. I've waited two years and looks like it will at least be another before theres a chance. Why the hell could they have not given us a pre order option for the 1200 and the 660 ??

I just dont understand with the KLR 650 and DR 650 being so popular in the states what Yamaha is thinking. I realize the 660 would no doubt have a higher price tag than the other two but its a real modern updated dual sport where as the DR is very outdated yet still very capable and KLR's updates a few years ago where not that spectacular in my opinion.

Yamaha, all I can tell you is if there is no 660 Tenere here in 2012 looks like I'll be going for the Tiger 800 if it gets good reviews.

Oh and by the way.... I hope Yamaha gets so many pre orders for the Super 10 that they cant make em fast enough for the demand. I do not want a big 1200 dual sport super touring whatever it is motorcycle but hopefully if it goes over well that may help the chances of getting other dual sport bikes to the US from all manufactuers.

Answer is very simple - Tenere 660 is manufactured in Europe in factory
with relatively small capacity, and US market is bigger than whole Europe...
