What comes around, goes around...

Lol...

So I have my ST1300 listed on CraigsList for $6,900 and I get an email from Tim at Citrus Cycle Center in Lecanto, FL offering me $5,000 for it sight unseen.

The funny thing is, back when I was looking for a sport touring bike for my Montana trip, I was really wanting to buy a C14 Concours, and Citrus Cycle Center had one for sale. I went in there with cash to buy it and they were just jerks. I had some ignorant young salesperson telling me lie after lie and the manager couldn't even be bothered to come out of his office to talk to me. They offered me $x,xxx for my trade (insultingly low) against a sale price of $x,xxx for the bike. I couldn't get them to give me anymore for my trade so I told them I would give them their price for their bike and keep my trade. Then they wouldn't honor the price they had given me. On top of that, they just had a terrible attitude the whole time I was there. Like they would be doing me a favor to let me buy a motorcycle from them.

After all of this, I still couldn't get the manager to come out of his office to talk to me, so I left, went to a Honda dealer and bought the ST1300 that same day.

Now I get this email from their GM. I responded to him, told him I had been treated terribly there and to pretty much stick it in his ass. Needless to say, he didn't like my email...

I was in your shop in the spring, cash in hand, to buy a Concours and you guys were the rudest pricks I have ever encountered in my life. I left and that same day, I bought this bike for $7K from another dealer.

Fuck off. I wouldn't sell you my bike for it's asking price.

Oh no. I'm so upset that I can't drive 50 miles to be treated terribly in your shop again. Fortunately, there are a lot of closer and more customer-oriented places where I can buy parts and accessories for my four motorcycles, so I guess I will be ok. Whew!

In case you are looking for some entertaining reading material, I just posted my experience at your store, along with a copy of this conversation at www.advrider.com, an adventure riding website with over 100,000 members.

Tim is right you know. YOU lowered yourself to the level of what you were complaining about. "...rudest pricks..." "Fuck off..."

Guess its time to read that Dale Carnegie book again.

Trespassing. In many states, it'd be perfectly legit. He's been told not to come into a private establishment by the owner/manager.

Aaah, that gets me all teary eyed *sniffle*

And as to who is the most rude, Dakez, screw 'em.
I have just about had enough of being civilized towards people who treat other people like crap!
Don't bring it against BigD for telling people who have treated him crappy to go take a hike. It's called standing up for yourself and far too few do it, which is why places and people like that dealer gets away with behaving like they do.

It did need a more descriptive, flowering language. You need to spend more time in JM, BD, just to ad to your vocabulary

As a business owner this person is a real dill.

This sort of response from a customer is gold as you can turn it around to a real positive and have someone saying good things about your business instead of bad.

Sadly it seems like he is full of his own importance and they type to blame a failing business on customers rather than his own incompetence.

Yeah, blame it on the customers is an old true and tried way to run your business straight in the ground.

And, what the hell time is it in Sydney right now? 9 am? Thursday?

Love it! The MCN Summer price guide shows an ST1300 /w ABS at $7350. Yours is definitely low mileage and looks in mint condition so your pricing qualifies already as a motivated seller. Me thinks the GM with an attitude was wanking off at the chance to pick it up your bike at a price that would give him an easy 50% profit and you deflated his ego with a broadsword ....

Give him the old and let him know you're expressing his sales IQ of 1.

That seems to be typical of Craig's list. Someone who has never even seen the bike tries to haggle you out of $2000 right off the bat.

I'd have told him to go get screwed too.
