Yep, further proof. Useless decade. Clearly nothing cool ever happened in the 70s

That was some awesome footage... Thanks for posting that.

"...for a man's ride - HONDA"

I need to put those old ad slogans on the bike somewhere

LUKE has advised me that this thread is slow...WTF!
I just mocked up the number plates, but have been working on my other "race" bike (Luke hates it when I call our DS bikes that we race, race bikes) for some upcoming races! Next weekend, the SL should get a workout in Central Oregon on it's first real shake-down ride. I'll be mounting up some better tires and hitting some sand and gravel roads

And, don't forget to follow his advice on the Proper Safety Equipment: An openface helmet, and a longsleeve shirt.

And don't forget "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". Someone else will need to find a clip of that one because I couldn't.

What were you wearing for gear in the '70s? Ahhhh yes the '70s was a very good decade and I even remember most of it.

He wasn't even wearing a tie.

Style is everything.

Sometime in the '70s I finally got a helmet. In the '60s, ATGATT amounted to a pair sunglasses. Oh yeah, I also got a pair of boots, because I kept burning my legs on the pipes.

Most of that, and definitely the parting shot is Dove Springs/Jawbone. The beginning looked like El Mirage.

Those pipe burns are nasty things. I learned not to wear shorts on a bike after three burns and two Dr. visits. I was still young and stupid, my Mom didn't care that I was on motorcycles but she said another Dr. bill and no more motorcycles. I started wearing jeans when I rode. '60s ATGATT. I got a helmet sometime in the 70s too but it wasn't until the '80s that I wore one all the time and then it took me many years to get a full face helmet.

It all sounds very foolish but looking back at what others were wearing and what was available for riding gear, it's amazing so many of us lived through it.

My only question now is: OregonCoast, will you be wearing vintage riding gear during the Mexican 1000 or close to vintage?

Go little Honda, go little Honda - you meet the nicest people on a Honda. . . . . .

And here I was worrying that this thing would get out of hand.

Glad to see my fears were unfounded......

Good luck with that scooter. You have my support!
