I finally escaped Hotel California in Punta del Diablo and made for the Brasil border. A bee welcomed me to the border by flying into my helmet and stinging me on the cheek.

You'll get the hang of it after a couple of days. It basically goes like this. You speak Spanish. When the women grab you and take you with them dont ask any questions. Just smile and have fun. Bemvindo a Brasil.

Hey guys, I am from Bahia, actually the worst part of it but I have been living in Canada for the past 14 years. I started a trip going to Alaska and now I am on my way donw. I figure that I will be in Colombia on feb 17th ish and I will be hitting the roads hard to make to Bahia on March 1 for my grandma bday. I am planning on taking the new road from Peru to Acre and head to through Brazilia and then to Bahia. I was wondering what you guys know about this road? Also, what is the deal at the border when I am a Brazilian with a passaport but a foreign bike?

Making way south from Sao Luiz to Fortaleza. Was thinking of heading up to Barreirinhas. Anyone with experience up there? Is it worth the major detour?
Or, can a moto make the dirt roads to connect paved MA 225 to MA 315 at Palino Neves?
