I finally escaped Hotel California in Punta del Diablo and made for the Brasil border. A bee welcomed me to the border by flying into my helmet and stinging me on the cheek.

I keep misfiring with the "gracias".

I like this Portunol, I don't understand anyone but they understand me.

You'll get the hang of it after a couple of days. It basically goes like this. You speak Spanish. When the women grab you and take you with them dont ask any questions. Just smile and have fun. Bemvindo a Brasil.

The woman at the Brasil aduana in Chui was the hottest woman I've seen in any aduana, evah! She said, "Welcome to Brasil" in perfect Ingles. I wasn't fooling her.

Silviu has a similar story about a Brazilian hottie wearing a Glock in customs at Santa Elena (VZ border) I looked for her when I went through but didnt see her. Hot chicks with guns, doesnt get much better than that.

Well the SOAT in Cartagena had some talent for sure but this woman is another league. And she was sporting a very nice thong I might add.

Btw, Floripa does not suck.

And I have to say the food in Brasil is an improvement over what I've had in the last few months.

The Baiano

Hey guys, I am from Bahia, actually the worst part of it but I have been living in Canada for the past 14 years. I started a trip going to Alaska and now I am on my way donw. I figure that I will be in Colombia on feb 17th ish and I will be hitting the roads hard to make to Bahia on March 1 for my grandma bday. I am planning on taking the new road from Peru to Acre and head to through Brazilia and then to Bahia. I was wondering what you guys know about this road? Also, what is the deal at the border when I am a Brazilian with a passaport but a foreign bike?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

Joca

Down Amazon, Down the Coast

After 8 years, the dream has come true: I'm in Brazil, on the coast in the north with the Uly.
Destination Bahia. Drop a line if you're on the route, or have places that I must not be missed. Would love to share a beer, exchange stories or just kick it for a bit. Will check out San Luis in a day or two, then maybe the sand dunes, and keep going down till Arraial D'Ajuda.

Don't be shy;

Best, P.

Barreirinhas?

Sorry to jump in here.
Making way south from Sao Luiz to Fortaleza. Was thinking of heading up to Barreirinhas. Anyone with experience up there? Is it worth the major detour?
Or, can a moto make the dirt roads to connect paved MA 225 to MA 315 at Palino Neves?

Thanks in advance,

P
