Rodrigo,

As I understand it, the motorcycle community around the worls is already aware of this sad event. I´ve heard that the family is coming to Brazil and that his body will be cremated here. I´m planning to attend, I had the chance to speak with him over the phone a few times and we exchanged some emails but he never made it here to Ilhabela (I was away when he was closeby).

Hard to see the blog...and dont cry one more life cutted..i cant believe! sometimes i really dont know why good people go first....

Sunday i will ride with my fellows here in Guarapuava. I will make a minute of silence in memory of Adrian. Somewhere , Adrian will see us and give us protection...still dont believing....

Just read Adrians blog ... thanks for posting the link. There are many of us who would probably not be aware of the free spirits that dare to follow our dreams ... it seems that Adrian was one of them.

Is it better to go doing what you love ..... or dying in your bed many years later wishing you had dared to follow your dream?

Adrian was in Rio de Janeiro about ten days ago. He stayed at a hostel in Ipanema about 6 blocks from my apt and seemed to make instant friends with several other young visitors from Europe and the US of whom there´s plenty around here this time of the year. We were going out to dinner but I had to cancel due to an emergency with a client. He went to a night club instead, with his new foreign friends, and the following morning confessed that it was actually much more fun than having dinner with me!
To the many friends Adrian made while in Rio de Janeiro, whoever and wherever you are, please know that he left us while doing what he liked best.
I heard about the accident this morning from Marco Antonio Caneco and when I got home went straight to advrider to learn more.

I'm looking for 3 carter protectors for my XT660's... My local Yamaha dealer doesn't seem to be able to find any. He's been trying for 2 months now.

Anybody here knows where to find these things, or maybe an address of someone who can make them?

I just watched Adrian's video in his blog spot. Nice young man, about my sons age. What can anyone say except condolances to the familly and that he died doing what he wanted to do. So very sad. Rest in Peace brother.

do you know the Clube XT600 forum?
It is a brazilian ADV rider forum in portuguese. Very useful to get info about the XT660.
And one of its sponsors is a web shop. I've bough some products from they. You can find the carter protector there.

Yamaha dont make the carter protector i just went to the dealer (what the dealer have in stock??), only have aftermarket products. wow... 104.000. Good stuff. How old is your bike? And did you have any serious problems with it?
I'm asking because I currently have 4 XT's that I am going to use in my touring business... I'm pretty confident that the XT660R is one of the best bikes on the market here in Brazil. I know, BMW is good too, but I'm not going to pay a lot more for a bike that is just a little better. plus... I never really liked BMW. Don't ask me why, I just don't.
I also have two Honda Falcon, for people that aren't used to the gravel and dirt roads here in Brazil, but I don't know how good (or bad) they are. Honda has a good reputation and lots of oficinas, so I guess I will be ok with the falcons too. I guess I'll find out pretty soon once I start touring

So... I hope you can do another 104.000 with your XT :o)
