Now one of the riders in Northern Ontario said insurance was reasonable there I was paying $1250 in 06 to insure my 05 Wee. I know my rates would have increased if I was still living there, yet here in Ab, my rates have continued to go down. Started with insuring my 07 Wee for $550.00 and as of this season I'm paying $459.00 for the year with full coverage

Quebec's insurance isn't as bad. Your basic liability is worked into your license plate fee, so some people only pay $200-$300 a year for insurance. Plates cost $600 (or waaay more if deemed a sport bike). But that isn't insurance right?

Talking with a guy who lives in vermont and pays $180 a year for multiple bikes makes me ill

Worse yet, I voted for McGuinty (the first time). His original promise was lower tuition (er, nope, that didn't happen) and lower insurance rates (really didn't happen)

The dates involved happened to fit, that is I left soon after the normal $79. per month payment came out and returned and removed the extra coverage before the $185 payment was due.
I rode fully Insured for free............
This can be done over and over. Hope this is clear.
Not an insurance agent by any means...but I'm pretty sure that the coverage would be pro-rated for the amount of days that you had full coverage...ie if you had full coverage for 10 days out of the month then removed it you would be charged for 10 days of full coverage and 20 days of normal coverage

You missed my point precisely.

Auto insurance in Ontario is a government protected racket. Plain and simple. Until voters get organized and serious about challenging their MLA's on this issue it will never change.

Alberta's in a better situation because they permit the big players from south of the border which allows competitive pricing.

Last I looked into it, pricing on BC vintage bike insurance (older than 25 years) was a screaming bargain. Like $10/month bargain.

Is that still the case in BC?

Not really..I got the point...just don't buy into it that ICBC won't "catch up" to you...if you got away with it I'd say good on you...

So far so good, if I am charged for this in some way I'll report back.
I agree that they [ICBC] are very clever and not often plundered. It is this that brings me so much small joy.
