I second that- you have a couple of queries to your PM and website with the same question-

If you still need a "beta", I have extra seat pans for both rider and pillion.

I installed mine on the Pig about a month ago, and I must say, this is an amazing seat. You really can't fault it: it looks fantastic and is soooo much more comfortable than the original race seat of the XR650R. I didn't do any longer trips yet, max about 1 hour or so, but I can feel that long days in the saddle will be no problem on this great seat.

PLEASE make a seat for my Africa Twin!!

DRZ400S w/IMS tank issue

I got my seat Monday night and went to install it. I'm having a problem getting the "tongue" on the tank to engage the seat at the front. Any suggestions on how to get that to grab? I can get it to engage a teeny bit but as soon as I sit down it pops off.

Even with the front not hooked on the seat feels great and is well worth the price. Just gotta get that hook fixed for perfection.

Any news on the black logo? Can I drop the seat off at your shop to get the seat installed?

Thanks
Brian

Mklaz,

We have seen this a couple of times with the IMS tank.
A customer brought his bike out to us with the IMS tank, we slotted the hole in the metal tab so you get more extension so the seat will catch it. There is some inconsistency with there tabs, the 4 gallon tank we have on our DRZ worked with no problem with our seat.
If you are handy, wouldn't be much effort to fab a little longer tab.

Hope this helps.

Haven't got samples yet,
But even if we decide to make a change, it will take a while to get them in stock.
We order seat covers in big quantities from several vendors, so any changes will have to be in the normal rotation of stock.

And you are welcome to come by the factory anytime, I will give you the 10 cent tour!

Thanks. My first thought was to slot the tab holes. I figured I'd ask about other options first.

Question Dr650se

Dear SC:
I have never bought from you guys before but have a question.... this was inspired by ADV inmate Phreaky Phil who has done some trans continental rides 2-up on a DR650SE.... that is not a misprint.

What would it take to do your "tall" version DR650 seat in a 'long' version? what would you need from me? do you have a bike available to take some info from or ??
If you happen to have a seat for a BMW F650 single-cyl bike, the dimensions of that seat, or a KLR [but I think is wider] would serve as a rough guide.

I do understand that the tail-rack or plate or whatever I use back there would need to be reworked to leave a couple inches of room for foam overlap from the seat. IIRC that's what Phil did on one or both of his builds - custom-made a tail rack that mounted further back and extended out over the tail light a bit. that is not problematic- i currently run a famous "BBQ Grill" rack on the mighty DR which extends out over the rear and over both sides. it is a good insurance piece which has paid for itself several times by protecting the side plastics, signals, and tail light!
