No cold white stuff
Just cool and dry, dry, DRY...

...And, a huge lotto thing. So, I flew low up to Malad to buy a few loosing tickets.

Pulled into the Chevron/Burger King (75 miles in about 50 minutes ) and saw this-

Parked off to the side

Took about 45 minutes to get through the line.
Several remarked that I had passed them in their pilgrimage

Went home through Caribou Natl Forest and Logan-

Here's to the winning numbers

Looks like good times. Weston canyon is great I ride a lot of single track on either side of that highway--a couple minutes from home and a lot of fun.

Love seeing your updates

I apologize for commenting going back so far in your RR. Could somebody clear something up for me. The Native Americans never had the use of horses until the Spanish came here, or so I have been taught. However, on Newspaper Rock you can clearly see a depiction of a person sitting atop a horse with a bow and arrow. So either the historians are wrong about the natives not using horses until the Spanish came, or those carvings (I have never seen them, I assume they are carvings) are not as ancient as people think that they are. Perhaps they might be 400 years old instead of 1200 years or older like I have read. If anybody can shed some light on this, please feel free to send me a private message. Once again Signal, I apologize for commenting on your RR that is two years old. Truly awesome pictures, and I thank you for posting them.

Geez that Chevron in Malad has become a regular stop for Mrs. Samthg & I on visits to my M.I.L., who now lives in Bigfork, Mt. Just stopped in there 3 weeks ago coming and going. We stayed at the Hampton in Lehi, which is a pretty good halfway point. Not sure if you know of the joint, but we had a pleasant surprise by eating at a place next door called JCW's Restaurant.

Wishin' continued good riding weather on ya! Always enjoy your thread, thanks.

Alcanrider, the petroglyphs started around 2000 years ago and continued until the early 20th century. That's why horses are there. I like the one with Santa Claus and his reindeer.

[QUOTE=Signal;20142448]No joy....

No joy for me either....ran up to Fish Haven on Tues to pick my winning combinations through Logan Canyon...zero traffic but alot of black ice. Spoke with a guy on a big Honda cruiser who said he had his bike sideways and scared the crap out of him. No line up there, ...just two guys drinking Natty Lites midday chatting up the gal behind the counter

Glad you jumped in -

It is indeed black ice season in some of the canyons, some of those corners wont see the sun for a while
