Chick's is a popular spot. Lots of bikes parked in front on weekends. It's your basic greasy spoon diner. They have these huge deep-fried things they call scones but are more like sopapillas. Sidetrack cafe is interesting with some good food (try the chili verde) and a patio. The owner might sit down at your table and talk your ear off if she's not too busy. If not the dog will keep you company.

One of my standard afternoon rides is to go have pie and coffee in Hanna, over wolf creek pass. There are several fun dirty ways to get there in the summer, too.

good thoughts

Is that diner car in oakley/ kamas still open ?

The diner in Oakley is still here and thankfully under new ownership and management. I haven't personally had a chance to try it yet but have heard good things. Planning on hitting ere this weekend. They are only open weekends right now, there is even talk of them trying to open a bar in the down stairs.....

SOme good trails and open roads out there (watch for old metal on the trails)

Thanks for the heads up on the trails up there. I have ridden the five mile area on dirt bikes a lot. New to this adventure bike stuff, unsure about how the tires handle off road situations.

Have never done much "off" road, I'm more of a gravel/dirt road to nowhere guy than the goat path up the side of the rockies , but am impressed with most dual sport tires, though they will never do well in mud or sand

Ran out to dance between rain clouds yesterday for couple hrs

Nothing special other than stopped at the Hill AFB museum for a few pics, and a chance to purchase a couple models (they are getting tough to find)

Name that nose

An elderly man (really nice guy) asked if I were, given my attire, getting ready to "take her up for a spin" - sorry for the crappy pic

The Dr Pepper outside moment- Sometimes it IS about the little things

Thanks all

P-47, P-51?
Thanks for the ride!
Someday when I'm trying to get out of the big "City" I'll have to check out the museum.
Oh and P-38

Well played, you must have built models as a youth as well- whilst dreaming of serving with Major Boyington

Yep!

The "noses" are (in order):

P47 Thunderbolt (nicknamed "The Jug")

P51 Mustang

P38 Lightning

I haven't been up to the Hill AFB Museum for a lot of years. Maybe I'll have to go up that way sometime this spring...

Signal, your rides / pics from around Utah have kept me entertained during night shifts. Thank you!

Very glad to assist

FWIW-the SR-71 has wonderful, evil lines

Greetings-
Sorry for the slow summer posting, or rather lack thereof

Crazy busy summer, as Iv'e said before, I am convinced every lap around the sun is faster than the last. To be honest, also have been bicycling much more than motorcycling this year (I do tend to do things in streaks )- have logged nearly 4000 pedal miles.

However- from a few evenings ago- a run between rainshowers up a local canyon- Monte Cristo

Mr Salty approved

And- from today, my first day off work in 7 days- blue sky and 70 deg. Perfect

East Canyon Res- low, like 20 feet below spillway low

Over toward imigration canyon, park city area- some colors turning but leaves looked really dry.

The road down was clogged by 2 sub-par cruiser riders , 15 mph in the switchbacks- shold have stopped for more pics
