I've been to most of the places you've been.. good stuff in utah. I think you might have seen my daughter & son in law at a cyclecross race in ogden a few weeks back.. If you bump into Taylor Foss, say hi to him for me.

Nice setup for these kinds of rides.. good choice!

Love the point and shoot, works for me, and is frequently better than I could hope for.

I know the Foss name, (and have likely raced with/against him) and will keep my ears/eyes open. I'll say this-- most 'crossers are good people, and have figgured out how to be competitive and friendly.
Thanks Scotty

Um... Not sure if this is a Sego Lily. I grew up in St George. Down there we call this one "Moon Flower" or "Jimson Weed" Its is edible, but I wouldnt recommend it unless you want to get high as a kite! Its a psychedelic.

You're likely right (the area fits, I'd taken my white flower photo in the Moab area I think)--

Your version sounds more interesting anyway

Some wildlife-- no California deer either--

[IMG][/IMG]
This HUGE guy was running around the Blacksmith Fork area (likely winters at Hardware Ranch)

[IMG][/IMG]
These guys were much more skiddish-- Just north of Bryce on John"s Valley Road

How about a few Bryce Canyon trees, some of the toughest of the tough

[IMG][/IMG]
One big pine, looking for sun

[IMG][/IMG]
Amazing longevity

[IMG][/IMG]
A little more open

[IMG][/IMG]
The "Viverrid" tree, hangin' and thrivin'

[IMG][/IMG]
Last one, for kicks down in the north end of the canyon

Mucho Grassy Ass for all the views/comments

Got out this morning for a couple hours, spun through Brigham City, Tremonton and the ATK/golden Spike areas--

[IMG][/IMG]
First, homage to a great little food joint in Tremonton-- Munn's sweet shop aka- "The Pie Dump". Next to Bear River High, this place has served hot rolls & gravy to generations of hungry persons. If you like brown gravy on fries, this is your place.

[IMG][/IMG]
End of the season outside Thatcher

[IMG][/IMG]
An odd park out in the fields

[IMG][/IMG]
Eclectic metal structures/sculptures throughout

[IMG][/IMG]
Up the road a little, found this display. The Caddy ("Lightning") and the T-bird ("Thunder") were special enough to someone that they were placed on display. I'd take the Ford off his hands

[IMG][/IMG]
These were next to their motorized brothers. Not a bad collection. Glad my ride has a few more horses and suspension

I'll add the rest of the ride manana

7K views. Thanks all

More from yesterday--

[IMG][/IMG]
Across the Bear River Valley, cool & windy, starting to spit a few drops

[IMG][/IMG]
Up over a short pass-- the valley behind me

Long meadows in front of me. Saw a large hawk prowling, but couldn't catch him on film

Seen before in the thread, but this one is a bit more clear-- ATK of rocket motor fame. This things are much more impressive in person, scale and all.

[IMG][/IMG]
Ever peresent self portrait

[IMG][/IMG]
Some wet glue-like salt beds on the run in home. These posts have seen their share of winters (notice the splintering at the top from freeze/thaw cycles)

[IMG][/IMG]
The long straight run toward home as the rain increased (again glad I had 100 horses under me instead of one, at least on this day).

Thanks. Utah is a great place to roam. I'm honestly pleased so many have followed along and chimed in.

Edit: also hope it helps stimulate some FF's with their route planning

Well, I'm up to post 105 and came across,

the answer I had about Goblin Valley. Bummer, no pics. I was up there in March 1996 on a trip to Lake Powell, got blown off of the lake in a snow storm so took a side trip to Goblin Valley. Thought it was very cool.

What about the Vernal area? Isn't there a Dinasour National Park up that way?
Really enjoying the tour around Utah. It's a beautiful state.
